u have the exactly same problem i had ... windows updates screwed up and so on!

but in the future we both know to keep our windows up to date!
well i couldnt do it because my winupdater is bugged as hell .... so i manually started to update everything with brute force ... took 4 ever

Tried again like 10 times but still not working so i think i will retry tomorrow i'm bored for now

While trying to brute force the KB2999266 update, I get "Error: 267 The directory name is invalid"

I've triple checked for typos and I've typed it exactly the way you've typed it in ur post, can you or anyone else help me with what this means or what I have to do differently?

I actually mistyped it in my post, but in my cmd I'm definitely not mistyping it, just tried it three more times, same error. It's actually an entire different error with a typo. The installation seems to start in the cmd, but then its halted during process 1 at 93.8% "Error: 0x8007010b" followed by error: 267

Sorry about that typo in the post though, haha.

did you run your cmd as admin? and leprechaun said it will only work on w7 sp1

Yes and and yes I've checked to make sure and according to my system settings, I have sp1.
