F2P hurts & limits POE's potential..
LOL made a lot more money as a f2p model than it would make as a p2p one.
Also, if poe had started as a p2p i doubt that many players would play it. Tl dr, it makes more money than it wpuld if it costed 40 bucks. |

F2P is the future of gaming. And what more perfect feedback mechanism than pay if you like what they are doing and responsive rather than giving 60 bucks to Activison like it or not. It very good for developers to keep them pushing themselves for best products ever which in turn is good for player.
I think riot sold its LoL property to a Chinese company for 800 million dollars so financials are fucking good for f2p or they wouldnt have paid that.. GGG could sell out too for 9 figures i bet. Git R Dun! Dernière édition par Aim_Deep#3474, le 30 avr. 2015 à 10:26:13

" I wouldn't be playing PoE if it had a subscription price like WoW, I never played it and couldn't fathom spending money every month on a sub fee. That being said GGG has made more money then what they would have from a sub fee from me and this applies to many people as well. F2P is the way of great games now. PoE (F2P) Dota 2 (F2P) TF2 (F2P) CS GO is $15 (which IMO is almost F2P) GGG won't change now OP, its F2P and will remain so forever, it doesn't seem to be limiting them now, so I am not sure exactly what point you are trying to make. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285
FeelsBadMan Remove MF from POE, make juiced map the new MF. |

" You ask if I'm even playing this game, but are you even reading correctly? I know this. I got the pieces. I'm saying all the other stuff they have though would be more rewarding earned through actually playing the game rather than paying. Dernière édition par Heartbound#1898, le 30 avr. 2015 à 11:44:35

" I'm not saying they need to go B2p/p2p. I'm saying if they was, they would be able to do a lot more than use most of the cool designs on micros. |

It seems like a lot of you didn't read or got the wrong idea. I know the game will do better F2P & that games make more being F2P now than they would be being P2p/B2P. But I'm saying because of this it limits rewards. As I used as an example earlier.. League of Legends skins is earned through paying real money. Wouldn't you rather buy the game once & unlock the champions & skins through actually playing, and the skins being a mastery tier/achievement type thing? This is what I mean with POE. Almost all of the very cool gear, weapon skins ETC.. Is through paying. If it was earned through special requirements or fighting a hard unique boss ETC it would be a lot more rewarding and fun. Instead of just spending some money then looking cool. I'm not saying GGG is doing anything wrong. I'm just saying games being F2P limits the potential they can do with cool cosmetics/rewards. Yes I got the set pieces for the hc challenge. But the gear I paid for still looks ten times better. BUT it felt a lot more rewarding getting it rather than buying. And you guys can't deny that. That's literally the entire point of this thread is to point out how microtransactions makes things feel unrewarding.

Not entirely true. There are a lot of cool unique skins you can obtain for a couple of chaos - exalts.
