GGG, don't favour streamers for CBT access.

closed beta is the opportunity to prove that my $$ was useful

This is like working hard on getting a girl, she's the girl of your dream and damn you work your ass off to get her. Date her a couple of time, spend money on activities to make her feel a great moment in your presence. On a Monday she tells you, our relation is going far, and i would like to take it further(first sex) on friday night, you'd feel freaking happy, but they she tells you that everyday of the week till that friday moment she'll be fucked by different random guys that she barely knows that never did any effort or guys she told you " he's just a friend".

This is what closed beta feels for a supporter like me

Having (in my MUCH younger years) enjoyed carnal relations with several virgins, I personally prefer a more mature and experience woman - one that has been able to develop in both confidence and technique.

Goddamn this metaphor, BTW. It kind of makes GGG sound like whores, which is unfair.

I'll agree to disagree on this one, otherwise we're going to end up in a non-constructive discussion. I will say I am disappointed, though.

Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years.

Best of luck in the future!
Give them all access.
If I don't get in i'd rather watch and keep up.

ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it
Pro letting Streamers in:

1. It's only top streamers, they said people with over a million views. I would venture to say that this is not a lot of people

2. Streamers play constantly. If you are beta/alpha testing a game this is exactly what you want. What you don't want is to give someone a beta key and have them not play very much because that means they are not testing the game.

3. Streams understand the game. Don't get me wrong, I've been here since the first closed beta and I am pretty okay at the game but I will never have the understanding of the game as say ZiggyD. People with this much knowledge can give certain feedback that devs want. Of course people like Ziggy should get invited, they put so many hours play testing the game they basically works for the company but don't get paid.

4. People watch streamers and this raises brand awareness about the game/company. Yes surprise surprise this is a business. I can't imagine how many hours the devs work to put out this much quality content over such a short amount of time. I have been PC gaming since Castle Wolfenstein and I would say that this game has released more content than any other game EVER! Anything that helps the devs do their job I say: Kudos!

5. Remember that closed beta is exactly that: CLOSED! I have tried several times to get on beta testing for other games, I am pretty sure that paying 10$ to be on the POE closed beta is the only time I have been able to participate in a closed beta. Please stop whining and acting like you are entitled to closed beta, you are not.

Honestly I don't have any cons to letting streamer in. Although I am the CEO of a LLC and I will say that this is a business decision period. It's good business and that's that. Lets all cut these guys some slack. If you are out there devs from GGG I say: great job and keep up the good work!! If more video game companies were like yours, I would have more than 1 or 2 choices when I play games. Thank you GGG.

Really man can't think of 1 reason

How about this thread wouldn't exist that is a good reason :)

Also to point #1 what does it do to a streamer that streams PoE and has less than 1 million views but doesn't get a key.

The rest I can argue but I am too tired look back at previous pages if you want my take.

I do like that you said something constructive rather than there are too many "I"s, it has the word "Debacle" in it, E is for Entitled, or "Gimme betaz keyz". So thank you for at least stating your opinion.

I think they should favor people that are knowledgeable about the game and will provide good feedback regarding balance and will seek out technical issues. That is how all betas should work. You favor those and then fill in the rest with a random draw.

+1
If you can't control it, STOP.

If anything, it should be a random draw. They're no different to those who don't stream. If you're going to do this, you might as well sell access for $10 or something so it's fair for everyone.

It's like on one of ZiggyD's videos he sounded so sure he was going to get in. You shouldn't be depending on streamers so much. I could imagine you losing players if all of the main streamers get access due to it not being fair at all.

Thoughts?

First, it will be a random draw as stated in the CB FAQ post.

Second, that some streamers may be allowed access directly to CB is just a smart move on GGG's part for a couple of reasons:

1) The sheer publicity gained for their new product, more than they could gain by just sticking to just conventional avenues, like the gaming sites (steaming attracts MANY people, and for good reason).

2) It is a fact that not everyone who wants to get into CB will be able to. Thus, it is logical that there should be some people specifically selected who stream their gameplay and will enable large audiences, including those who couldn't get in, to be able to at least glimpse the new Act and learn from the experience.

How can you possibly complain about this, given #1 and #2 stated above? Especially if you yourself understand that you aren't "entitled" to anything, something that afflicts many people on these forums. Even if people have paid for supporter packs and helped build the game they love and care about, it is regardless a product that GGG is solely responsible for. No one bought any "stock" in GGG, they are not being publicly traded here for people to somehow consider themselves shareholders or something. They're not. We are all just fans of a game we love, nothing more and nothing less, who want to see this thing succeed.
