Least gear dependant build?

you could try Chris' post about leaked patch notes. He explains which builds are currently good without much gear. It seems the idea of a character being strong without gear is one GGG aren't keen on:

Without too much knowledge about the game, I played last one week HC race with witch summoner.
I finished level 75, in 68th place (I think 12th witch or so).

Easy. I play in party act1, then at level 12 I went solo until finished the game.
I do some level 61-63 maps and then started to play with other guy in level 67 or so.

I finished merciless with negative resistances, no granites, no flasks resistances.
I think it's a very less dependant build than others. Just dont think you can kill as fast as others. You wont.

Summoners is the way of comfort, after giving those summoning pasives than u are ready to go and u only suffer at normal diffuculty. But i dont think GS mara is least gear dependant anything after cruel is a problem for you but still is the most relyable among the other mara builds.

I dont anything can can beat the summoner after normal. They can manage to survive with no res at all while tehy wearing a couple of andvarious rings at end game map content so u decide.

That sounds like what I want then. I don't care if I'm killing slower than lets say a properly geared cold-crit witch, or ground slamming marauder. I'll just use it to get to merciless and acquire stepping gear for builds I like more.
