Armor is too weak

Dunno about totem evasion, but I know that vaal smash is considered a spell, so its not something that works with evasion (as far as I know). It is also not pure physical damage, but also spell dmg

I just wanted to know if 83% (with about 15600 armor, and 5 endurance charges) reduction is actually effective in many situation with physical damage taken?

No this means that armor wont help in PVP only DPS and Health since people do easily 20 k damage that leaves armored builds in bummer and range with movement speed will dominate like age of conan which isnt balanced but people tend to disagree since if someone has 10 k damage and u reduce with 20 k armor 1500 that is simply stupid but if u would actually reduce 70-80% that would work but this now is pure HP/DMG race for people playing armor is just side thing event thou it has so many nodes which are funny compared to HP nodes in how effective they are !

And 15k armor against the big hitters is barely helping since thats HOW BALANCED armor is but it will help u against bunch of useless opponents who u could kill with armor or without!

Dmg is nerfed in PvP. 15k AR is also rather small.

Yea, that would be the case if I didn't have life leech (10.5% with 25k DPS), and 13.55% life regenerated per second (7.0% from frenzy charges, 1.0% from endurance charges, lvl 17 Vitality gem, and 4.2% from passives (with roughly 3k HP, I get around 440 life regen per second)) included into my build.

armor has to fight two diminishing returns

first is the dim.-return from high armorrating itself.

the second comes from the damage dealt by the attacker



if armor where balanced against highhitters it where OP against low-hitters.


i never understood why the second diminishing return is built in, and i never saw a good explaination for it.

No i dont get that why armor SHOULDNT work against bosses when HP works againsts anything just wanna know.

So modders were like yea armor is going to work great just it isnt working against bosses thats cool stuff but enough HP will save the day everytime so lets make armor nodes 10% and health nodes 6% even thou 6% HP is about 5xbeter then 10% armor .

Then why armor nodes dont have something like 5% flat DR added after few nodes dont get the point everybody will take HP as primary and ARMOUR or armor or however u wanna call it is being side thing which none will take it still costs 1 node same as HP !

And about 50% DR and rhoa is typical failure of how armor works that every other defense works better evasion negates hits ,block negates hits,HP rules over all since its the single most strongest thing for tanking and armor is like "I can negate monkey hits damage "

And since damage increases incredibly during levels of difficulty and as developers said "armor will help u against toothpicks" where are such opponent,it would be easier if they said u know guys armor is crap in this game we made it like that by making 1/12 formula which is total mathematical failure !

Absolute damage reduction = Armour / 12 * Raw Damage / (Raw Damage + Armour / 12)


Damage Reduction Factor = Armour / ( Armour + (12 * Damage) )

Now lets make mobs which deal incredible ammounts of damage in single hit instead od smaller ammounts of damage per hit but hit faster and after that its all down the drain thx to such incredible formula instead maybe making a little more complex formula which would work against bosses and mobs thez have formula which works against low damage enemies HURRAY!


Khastro its simple they ignored armor since its easier then to deal with mathematics and people realised armor sucks so everyone goes HP instea balancing both so u could make HP/Armour hybrid or lets say ARMOURED tank build which would have 2-3k HP and ALOT armor and damage reduction which would actually work against all opponents!
