I know that the reason those points exist is to make Whispers a bigger point investment, but there's no reason why they shouldn't be points that are actually useful in some way. Like the two points for totem life and duration before ancestral bond, that two points are probably ones you would ignore if you could, they're there to make that keystone a 3 point investment, but they're quite beneficial.

Yes it's meant to be a bigger investment. Now about Totem duration passives... They are really quite useless. The totems all have a long enough base duration that one should be finished with their necessity long before the default duration runs out. Totem duration should be replaced with either more totem life, or minion/totem elemental resistance, if you want to call them "beneficial".

i agree with this. its enough that players bitch at each other and provoke each other on the forums, and now GGG starts too? i dislike.
i can understand every bit of frustration you have Mark, as the only thing you hear is "complains" but this is not the way to solve it eather =/
