Curse nerf is overboard.

Bosses should be given AI/behaviors to cure or prevent curses. Keeping a boss cursed should be a matter of skill.
Also, this change has no effect on Act 2's final boss, which is Oak. The Amazon Basin: A Community of Friends Playing Games

" Doh! No kidding, that is what the OP is complaining about! I totally agree also. Reduce the effects upon stacking instead of making the curse useless. The reductions are posted in the notes I believe and they are fairly severe as I recall. We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.

So basically, a lot of people seem to feel that curses are mandatory against bosses.
Any way I try to look at that, it tells me that something is wrong. Either it means bosses are too easy with curses or that bosses are so ridiculously hard that they need to be cursed. Regardless, imo cursing has too big an effect on boss fights and even general gameplay. The other thing, it was always strange to me that I could cripple Vaal, Brutus and Map bosses but do nothing against a random pack of snakes. Ultimately I think this will be for the better, although it may hurt a few people pretty severely in the short-term. |

Why couldn't it have just been an offense curse nerf? Some bosses are so IMBA that defensive curses are a must in order to survive. So why reduced effectiveness on these? I don't like it.

The reason is to exclude all casuals from geting them the juicy loot from hardcore bosses ;)

Just fought Piety today with dual curse. She was still a challenge. I have a feeling that this change is going to make me mad. I wouldn't care so much if I didn't have like, you know, 8 skill points tied into dual cursing. And dual curse was mostly a choice I made for bosses. So basically I may choose to go get 8 regrets since I'm sure I didn't get any respec points even though my build got nerfed.
I don't find these sorts of changes necessary or fun. Feels like Diablo 3 all over again. Team Won

I was really surprised when I first started playing PoE because curses worked like normal on bosses. "Wow" I thought, "They've actually balanced their game well enough that they didn't need to rely on artificially reducing debuff effects on bosses." I was really impressed.
Now I am less impressed. " Pretty easy boss: click "help oak" - victory! Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

" From what I understand its the dual curses of temp chains + enfeeble. Both on their own make a boss much more trivial, together.... yeah |

" There's another possibility. GGG is balancing multiplayer games at the expense of the single players. The solution to this (and much of the SP/MP balancing issue) *might* be to have a factor applied to buffs/nerfs depending on how many players are in a given instance. If GGG did it that way, than single players would still have a useful tool (curse) in very tough fights, and a six player team wouldn't be able to waltz through encounters as easily as they can now.
