Why you should be able to reroll you character!

I disagree. If I could reroll at any time I'd have been bored of this game ages ago.

As is, I've quit a level 80 and 68 to reroll 3 new characters. 2 in their 70s, 1 in the 50s. It's easy to reroll. Once you go through this game once or twice you'll have a ton of leveling gear as well as knowledge. Hitting 51 took me 1 day. Making respecs easy will cheapen everything for me and I could just respec at a whim. I'd have no need to continue playing this game. I could just respec, test out a FOTM build, respec, try a build, etc... and be bored in a week.

You can respec your char

There is always the possibility of a full char respec every now and then

If we can respec super easily it makes rolling new chars pointless.

In order to reset all your skills, you would have to complete some kind of pretty tedious and difficult quest.

It's called collecting orbs of regret, and if you'd played the game at all before ranting against it, you'd know that.

/end thread.

And I'm really sick of people who came here without playing the game making suggestions like "why should it be like this and that" well fuck you. You did not discovered America ok ? This forum exists for almost 2 years and you are not the first one with this idea and suggestion. There is a reason obviously why it is like this. So if you have not started the game yet but already came to the forums QQ-ing, please gtfo.

Well said, Marok, if not the least bit eloquently ;P.

LOL why is everyone giving this joker who has not even started playing or simply made a new account with the hope of influencing moderators so much attention? Troll-bait succeeded?
i agree, with people saying this thread is pointless. there are regret orbs and people sell them all day on trade chat.

diablo 2 had no reset, i had 4 sorc, 3 paladins, 3 barbs and so on, your character isn´t suposed to be multitasking.

Hell with this, diablo 2 didn´t even had respec, i had some characters with 1 or 2 skillpoints on the wrong skills, and they had to live with that mistake for the rest of their lives. be thankfull GGG is being alot more mercifull, cause they could have taken the option of even reseting points.

Whole lot of long comments in this thread to a poster who openly admits never having even played the game.

Orbs of Regret are relatively cheap, if I spent two days trading I could completely reroll a level 70 character.
part of poe is the strategy of building your character. Its not the entire part but its a major aspect of it

What would happen if you took another strategy game say chess or a campaign mission in star craft and you could go back and fix any move? Go backwards in chess 10 moves? Rewind starcraft 10 minutes? Fix any error instantly as long as your king/command base isn't dead.

Why the strategy would be a joke, something that only the absolute worst players in the game woulds till struggle with.

Thats why fixing errors in PoE has to be limited.

I have not actually started to play PoE yet, and the one thing that makes me hesitate is the fact that you can't reroll/reset all your skills. Now, there are pro's and con's to this.

The pro's are that all the decisions you make are important
The con's are the same, all the decisions you make are IMPORTANT.

Depending on your level of patience, your character may get a full reset, or two or three for absolutely nothing. The skill tree is not fixed in stone and when GGG makes changes to it, your character might get a full reset. It isn't every week or even every month, but it does happen.

Your first character will not have an optimal build/skill tree to start out with. You will end up having to take skill nodes to survive and advance because you don't have the gear to get past certain challenges.

The cool thing about Path of Exile (in my opinion) is that until the last act of the last difficulty, your character can find gear that will allow them to advance. Playing your character through these challenges will give you an idea of where ALL the WEAK SPOTS are on your character.

You will know exactly what gear/stats you will need to keep going. Your playing style will be stronger because of it.

As you get better gear and some regret orbs (there are some quest respec points too), you can play around with the skill tree and try out some changes. There are builds that you will find to be a lot more fun to play.

If you run into problems, just post your build and what you are having trouble with. There are lots of very good players in PoE. You might also find some videos by the better players that make things clearer.

Good luck and hope you have fun in Wraeclast!
