Marohi Erqi vs High end Maul

A far too common misconception. A mirror will always be more expensive than erqi and that mace does not have a 'free' conc effect which makes a massive difference. Maybe the dps difference makes up for the level 15 increased aoe but I would be very surprised.

I have a 5linked one and its pretty okay(except it really expensive). Still alot better than my 5l 420DPS 1.49aspd mace though.
Not sure how it compares to 500 DPS maces. But IMO a 6linked marohi might still be better.
Reason being its essentially 7linked with increased aoe.
For a 6linked normal mace, you can only use 4 'offensive' supports, melee phy, added fire, wed and faster attacks. Most people would probably go for a blood magic for the 5th support. I know you can include a concentrated effect gem too but its a massive aoe reduction without the added skill radius from marohi.

For a 6linked marohi, we can use 5 'offensive' supports. Melee phy, added fire, wed, faster attacks and of course concentrated effect. All these gems give damage.

Actually theres still multistrike for a 6linked normal mace. But I have no idea how good is that for phy dmg builds. Might need more opinions on this.

level15 increased area of effect aka + 28% increased radius vs a lvl20 concentrated effect is a +69% MORE aoe damage vs -30% REDUCED radius.

so we have <aoedmg>*1,69 vs -2% radius. thats more or less nothing in terms of radius reduction. they are increased/reduced so they just subtract from each other.

thats just speaking in terms of raw damage. the slow attack speed and the -10% movementspeed may bother you if you dont have any movement speed on gear, but that cannot be really factored into damage numbers.

short: in terms of AOE damage, a Maroqi is equal to a 654 DPS physical 2H Mace. (<maxroll dmg values>/2 *0,85 *1,69 ).

for single target dps it still has 386,75 dps as a max roll.

lets just say we were doing 1:1 aoe:singletarget damage in terms of distribution of total damage.

we then would need a mace that has:
(<maxroll maroqi>+<maxroll maroqi*1,69>)/2 in terms of DPS - and 5L or 6L is mandatory , 5L because we used a slot in the maroqi already to make use of the integrated aoe increase gem.

654+387 /2 = ~521 DPS mace with 5L or 6L. a bit lower dps if you shift more in the singletarget direction , and more (towards 654) if you do more aoe.

examples:
Maroqi:
<skill>+melee physical+added fire+conc effect+weapon ele+faster attacks
other:
<skill>+melee physical+added fire+weapon ele+faster attacks+X


you can use conc effect here for X and have more dps than maroqi - but you will suffer from the reduced aoe which the maroqi does not have after all. Maybe a L20Q20 Multistrike could help - but a Maroqi user could put that one in instead of faster attacks hmmm.


All in all, its probably not possible to have a mace that does more AOE damage than a 6L Maroqi. But its certainly possible to have one that surpasses it in singletarget dps - but your missing out on the increased radius thats built in.

6L Imperial Maul with max attack speed and total max rolls on anything that can be physical damage maybe? can the rolls actually be high enough ?

FYI: both maces posted above do less DPS than a maroqi in terms of AOE and even on a 50:50 aoe:st distribution - so whats so freakin godly about them? stun chances scale with damage so lower chance because of lower damage per hit but faster interval vs slower interval but higher chance because of more damage per hit even out ... so DPS counts, unless we're talking about traveling with Leap Slam instead of doing damage with it. 2 faster slams to kill mobs vs 1 slower slam to onehit mobs ...

IMHO there can be better maces if you get incredibly lucky or spend the wealth of multiple mirrors into crafting one out of a ilvl77/79 white - have fun. A Maroqi is way more realistic to get or to farm to pay for one, and still better than 99% of the maces out there. if you desperatly to improve even the last one percent - all RNG luck to you, but its certainly not effective.
