0.9.13 - In Depth Flicker Strike Dagger Guide

i don't know when to go for CI i just reached lvl 32 and am kinda scared with only 500ES
any1 some tips ?

Now with mana leech, all I have are diamond and granite flasks. Don't worry, your ES will be high enough with the right items. I went into CI around your lvl and it turned into just above 1k, which was plenty with the right cooldown reduction.

I'm lvl 58 now with 8.5K DPS and 3.6K ES... keep on getting higher dps and ES is staying low. I am indestructible in any zone except chaos... Some chaos maps I do excellent and then on some it's a struggle. My ES is not as high as I'd like to be, but since my cooldown reduction is so fast, sometimes my ES recovers in-between enemy attacks during the fights.

i went CI now and after i got blood rage and mana leech im doing pretty well! i have around 1k ES and i dont need more for now going for dps only now :p

I have two elemental weapon damage support gems but i'm quite afraid about wasting tons of chromatic orbs on this padded jacket. I'm focusing now on searching rarity items. This is list of my improved euipment:

PS. Yesterday I've found mage robe with 5 socets linked to each other, but i've traded for some junk. Next time i will keep one for you if you want.

I had a question about blood rage and CI. If you have one life, how does blood rage work ? :D

marquis - Chaos Innoculation makes you immune to chaos damage; therefore, Blood Rage (which does chaos damage to you) has no negative effect on you, since you're immune to it. You only get positive benefits from Blood Rage. It's a free buff if you have CI. I highly recommend getting that 1 extra frenzy charge, which is right next to the Elemental Damage node near Shadow starting area (all the way to the right). Getting it early on with Blood Rage will make leveling that much quicker.

Currently I m level 30 ish without CI and blood rage and I have 100% rare find and 1200 dps which one shot most mobs. SO I guess I ll take the next step (CI+blood rage)once I see leveling is harder.
I have to say I m worried using CI now as I have only 60 energy shield. I think I will try once I get more energy shield.
I also have mana decreasing very fast making the use of two mana potions a minimum to be able to constantly kill mobs.

I would like to add that indeed the daggers with fast attack speed combined with flicker strike are far better than any slower speed weapon, in case some people still had doubts...

your life wont be drained - i believe it's because the life drain is chaos damage and youre immune to it

i THINK that you dont get the extra attack speed when on low life, but its still VERY useful imo

Now level 40ish, some mobs started to be able to one shot me, so I started using CI+blood rage.
To use CI you need to be sure to have some items with 100 energy shield, so that with all the bonuses applied you get over 1000 energy shield+avoidance of 50%. I have this and I can kill mobs again all the time. Just have to get used that its not the life you have to check, but the energy shield !!! once it is half down, I usually escape so it reloads.

Blood rage is hard to keep up between two fights, but it costs virtually 0 and is very efficient in terms of increased speed. I get around 2500 Dps with the basic three charges.

One thing I notice with this build is the higher DPS than any other build I had and I still havent got to the 3 nodes with 20,45 and 20% elemental damage... still miss some levels for that.

All in all a big thanks to Struyk for the guide. Would it be possible you give us an update of how it is now and how you deal with chaos ?

I'm not getting anywhere close to these levels of DPS but still having a good time. I'm playing through on hardcore though so I'm taking my time a bit more and probably not getting as much good equipment.

I got a question about spell critical strike, will it work for flicker strike? and other abilities?
