I'm very late to the party, any recommendations what to get if I want to level a build like this?

Or should I switch to a diff guide that has newbie information like leveling gear and gem link setupss and bandit choices etc.?

Honestly, this guide is great and the trees are brilliant. Leveling is basically - socket OWN, stomp the entire game. Make sure to turn off "auto-equip" once you have OWN installed. Always level with the base tree, even if you have a high budget right now - Split Personality needs you to be around level 85 or 90 to start looking comparatively good and doesn't really truly shine until the mid to late 90s (this is based on me PoB'ing - I haven't played enough to get splits yet). If you can afford the splits, you can afford some basic gear and the respecs too.

Bandits is passive points - it's in the PoB. Edit to add - feel free to PM me if you have questions about early to mid game (like, through early red maps).

Phatrick - you should look at some of the recently posted split trees. You have a lot of points off the main path, and you're using splits quite early in your pathing that might be better with rare jewels. I tend to think that split builds are better when they path right than left - you lose some life% and life from strength, but make it up with dex for both dps and life. A vuln ring would be massive for dps too.

Ataya - vuln on hit ring is your next upgrade, and from there you should likely save for a split personality variant. You could also get a Fluid Motion with "immune to corrupted blood" on it.

If I have a Str/Dex Split Personality, will that work? I figured you still get a decent bit of life, but I'm not sure how much we sacrifice since I'm unfamiliar with the tree for this.

Can anyone tell me if 79 block chance is calculated on the character sheet? Because I have mine saying 49% and i followed the tree not sure if im missing something or doing something wrong?

Rumi's Concoction will give you 20% and Violent Retaliation will give you 10%. In the configuration tab, put 10 in "Number of times you've blocked in the past 10s"

DEX/STR Split Personality will work just fine. That's what I am running right now. I haven't checked the life/damage difference between the two.

Well, had another SP drop in a simu today... so I redid my tree. and am being dumb and went for a kinda warcry set up. It's pretty fun. THoughts?!

Is the full chaos resist necessary on the split personality build?
or is it minmax?

Also, fluid motion with that implicit is for the current build right? since its not slotted in the split personality one
