[3.10] The Saviour Flicker Strike Champion. All content down.

The Saviour of Flicker Strike

Morning guys Moorhuhn here.
this is my take on the saviour sword.
With flicker strike as clear and double strike as single target we destroy the entire game. This time on a quite high budget though. This buildguide will NOT contain a budget version because it is ment to be played with at least 25ex starting out going for 100ex for the halfway optimised version.
If you have any questions, ideas or anything else catch me live and just talk to me:

3.10 changes
As far as we know there are not many changes in the 3.10 patch so far. Only one line in the patch notes is concerning but we do not know if it affects us much yet.
"The Saviour: Mirage Warriors created by this weapon can now consume charges to bypass cooldowns, if the skill they use has a cooldown that can be bypassed this way. For example, Flicker Strike Mirage Warriors will now consume Frenzy Charges until they run out, at which point they will only use Flicker Strike once the cooldown expires"

Build explanation
So first of all
What is the build about:
In this guide I will go through all the bits and pieces you need to know about champion Flicker strike/Double strike with Paradoxica+ The Saviour.
While Flicker strike covers our clear in a 4-5l double strike will take care of any bosses and other big baddies we come across.
We utilise Impale, crit and loads of flat phys stacking to deal huge chunks of damage.
The clones of the saviour help with a clean clearing experience and little backtracking.
Paradoxica is pretty much the BIS weapon for this builds but more of that in the item section.

Why Paradoxica + Saviour
Spoiler

Paradoxica and the Saviour both are weapons that look terrible from a pure dps perspective. So what makes these weapons so good?
Saviour: Saviour summons up to 2 clones of yourself that attack with the ability that summoned them at 50% of your dps each.
This means that the dps seems twice as high. But its even better:
Due to the nature of effects that double your damage flat damage scaling is twice as effective as well. This means that when you get 10-20 physical damage from your ring, you gain 20-40 due to The saviour.
Now Paradoxica comes into play.
Paradoxica doubles the hit damage of the sword as well. This means that every second hit takes the flat physical damage twice as well. Resulting in 30-60 flat phys from a source that should only give 10-20
And this is not even the final form:
The Saviour clones are immune to damage and have a relatively large target radius. This means that they keep attacking when you back off and recover off a big hit. Or just evade.
The clones will constantly attack during any downtime of you and keep 50% of your dps up.
This is extremely good in fights such as Sirus because the clones will look out for the real Sirus even and go only for him.

Pro's and Con's
Spoiler

Pro's:
+ Can do all content
+ The clear gets faster with higher density
+ One of the fastest mappers ive played so far
+ Takes care of Metamorphs before they attack you
+ Very good surviveability and EHP
+ The sky is the limit. This build can squeeze more dmg out of every single slot with barely any ceiling of investment
+ Can tank many hits and recover quickly
+ Can run most map mods as champion and all as slayer (Fuck no leech though)
...

Con's:
- Has entry costs of at least 20-40 exalts
- Low lootfilters interrupt gameplay massively due to backtracking and flow breaking
- Does not have the pool to tank any hit you come across
- Sometimes the saviour clones jump ahead and break your flow due to enforced walking or leap slamming

Skilltree and gearing
Spoiler

Bandits
For Bandits either take 2 skill points or Alira for all res & crit. You will have to decide what you need more. Keep in mind that you can respec the bandit quest later on with 20 regret orbs + onyx/lapis amulet.

Gear discussion

Current gear

Weapon

The Saviour

Paradoxica

This combination of swords is pretty much best in slot.
The only way you can achieve higher numbers is with a mirrored foil instead of paradoxica

Both weapons technicaly have a "deal double damage mod". While the paradoxica
mod is local the Saviour mod is global and doubledips with the paradoxica

Helmet

On the helmet you want the "Enemies take 9% increased physical damage" from fossils. Rest is life and other defences. Maybe dex or int

As Enchant you can either use reduced mana for one of your auras or double strike chance to deal double damage. You might however need to change up your aura setup then.

Bodyarmor

For the body armour you have multiple choices
An easy starter is

Upgrades are Yriel's fostering, Sporeguard or a rare explode chest

Gloves

For the gloves you want cull and target additional enemy. Rest is life/resis/dex or int

Boots

A popular choice are tailwind boots currently.
If you have the currency add fortify on top of that to free a link in your flicker

Belt

On the belt slot you mostly want to fill resistances and life. Get as much as possible here

Rings

For the rings you have options

Is the rare variant you can go for. If you have de money you can go for an assassin mark ring with double curse or vuln on hit ring for an other amulet.
Another variant are circles of Guilt with buff effect and increased phys damage

Amulet

Is your go to amulet.
If you afford vuln on hit ring go for crit chance, crit multi, flat phys rare

Jewels

For the Jewels we have 3 main slots.

Intuitive leap helps us to safe a few skillpoints to spent on better nodes. Hard to overcome with a normal jewel

For Watcher~s eyes you have options. Impale chance lets us drop the banner which is allows us to get another aura up like blood and sand or herald of purity. If you add anything else on top that's great.

Tempered Flesh or the upgraded version (Transcendent flaesh) provide 50% crit multi. The upgraded version gives some physical damage reduction as well.

If you want to add in rare jewels look for life and lots of crit multi

Flasks

A life flask with anti bleed is one of my favourites. You will rearly see a build of me without it.

Lion's Roar is an easy choice. Its just too much damage to skip

Same as Lion's Roar. The bottled faith is just too much damage. Untill you have it use an immune to freeze flask. When you take out the immune to freeze you will need immune to freeze on boots or an other flask.

This Diamond flask is your best endgame choice but if you need immune to freeze still you can put it here too

This is the only real defence flask you will need. The combination of anti curse and blind is hard to skip.

Cluster Jewels

Focus on geting impale to 100% and like 1-2 more impale stacks.
After that double damage and attack speed mods are great. General damage is very good too. Even some resistances can help a lot.

For medium I think crit is very potent. It has double damage and lots of crit multi too.

Small ones you want life. Fettle or surging vitality both are very good

Gems
Spoiler

Offensive Setups:

Double Strike is our main single target. Nothing special about the links

Flicker strike is our clear skill for most occasions. If you have fortify boots take out fortify for ancestral call

Movement

Leap Slam always stuns full life enemies. So this is nice to generate free endurance charges

Defensive/utility setups

Blood rage helps us to keep up frenzy charges for clearing

Molten Shell and Vaal Molten Shell are a big part of our defence. Whenever you feel like you will take a big hit get that VMS up. Do not hesitate to use it.

Auras and Buffs

Just the best combination of buffs you can use to achieve good dmg.

FAQ

Q: Champion vs other Ascendancys:
A: Assassin
Spoiler

Assassin will reach better crit chances and multi. However:

Champion gives:
+2 impale
20% impale chance which lets us drop the banner
flat dmg per impale (Which is huge on saviour+paradoxica)
+hits can not be evaded (No care about accuraacy)
+Pushes to 35k armour which gives over 15k vaal molten shell shield
+Better access to life nodes
+Possibility to go for slayer

The build has more than enough damage and defence is what you want in the current state of the game.
Assassin will work no doubt. But its gonna be much more squishy

A:Slayer
Spoiler

Slayer is the more budged version of the build.
You get the cull you later want on gloves.
You get AOE which you do not need when you have fortify boots.
You get overleech... which is nice but I prefer fat armor and vaal molten shell
You get more base crit, which is unnecessary when you have bottled faith. Or before even.

Slayer is not bad. But champion is better in many aspects

A:Raider
Spoiler
Raider these days is a decent choice for a fast paste build with defences through dodge and evasion mostly.
The dps output is ok'ish and raider can use flicker only due to the frenzy generation.

However:
I started the character as slayer for the following reasons:
Overleech, 20% cull, high basecrit.
I later changed to champion because of the following:
More reliable defence. 30k armor and 25k vaal molten shell
More boss dps due to huge impale numbers
Can ignore accuracy
Both use double strike for bossing since it deals much more dps than flicker strike anyways

Raider is slightly faster than the other choices but will have less life and worse overall defence

Q: A Paradoxica with spell trigger
A:
Spoiler
Things I can recommend however are:
A leveled vulnerability curse to use a rare amulet instead of Impresence.
A leveled punishment or assassins mark curse if you have 2-3 curse limit
Frost Bomb to reduce enemy life/es recovery
Molten Shell to have as much uptime as possible
Blood Rage if you have enough reg to ignore the constant degen
A Golem to have constant uptime
Convocation if you run an Animated Guardian setup
Wave of conviction+frost bomb if you run hatred and other sources for cold damage

Q: A second curse if we have access to 2?
A: Assassin's Mark or Punishment. I do prefer Assassin's Mark due to the unreliability of Punishment though

Q: Enchant options?
A:
Spoiler
If you really want a glove enchant go for "Reflection"
For boots you can go for movespeed, life reg, leech or others of your choice.
For helmet the "Double strike has 15% chance to deal double dmg" gives the most dps.
A helmet with reduced reservation for one of your auras can make your life easier overall. Without a reduced mana helmet you will need an enlighten 4 to use Flesh and Stone with Maim support.

Q: Damage sometimes feels like trash and then I vaporise the next map by blinking
A:
Spoiler
This is very dependant on buffs and the map mods.
Usualy for map bosses I just burst them with double strike and use vaal ds and 1 ancestral totem and vaal molten shell IF its not the end of the map and I can recharge for metamorph. If its the end of the map I only use doublestrike and keep the rest for the boss.
If you have all flasks up for the boss it should not vary too much. Impale+crit make it need a short ramp up. If you clones vanish seconds into the boss encounter you will have to spawn them again with a crit which can be unlucky and take 2-3 hits. That will be a bad dps time.

Another factor is layering of map mods. For example: 40% reduced phys 40% less crit damage taken alone make an encounter 4x as long. if the boss now has 100% more life you sit at 8x. This can get even worse and they all ramp up each other.
In addition to that check your current chance to impale. If you do not have an impale chance watchers eye you need the impale nodes at the bottom left to achieve a reliable % chance that does not feel random.

Q: Awakened gems necessary?
A: No. But they are good.

Q: Annointments?
A: Tribal Fury and Assassination are your best bets

Looks neat. Hows is the frenzy generation upkeep to sustain flicker working?

For clearing you sit at cap because you nearly oneshot everything. For bosses you use double strike unless you invest into farruls fur.

PS: Can not work on the guide in the next ~1-2 weeks since I have no internet but will gladly answer questions when I get the time.

The leveling section is not updated for the build since it is still wor kin progress.

I currently can not provide leveling trees and will not put much amount of effort into this guides leveling section since its a buildguide with a very high budget entrance. You can use the leveling trees of my Bladestorm guide however. Those should work with small adjustments.

Im following a similar build but idk what to choose in terms of bandits. First I went to the 2 skill points but now Im thinking helping Alira maybe is the best since she give us 20% crit and all res (which Im lacking of it)

Both are valid choices. For 2 skillpoints you can get resis elsewhere but not thecritmulti. With really good gear 2 skillpoints in most cases are superior. In an ssf environment alira can be pretty nice.

In the end you will have to decide on that anyways.
Keep in mind that you can switch your bandit reward later on anyways so take what you prefer currently.
