FPS and Frame Time Spikes
hi new to the game, but i have a brand new computer and i'm seeing really bad spiking/stuttering/freezing
i've tried messing with video settings, fullscreen/windowed, d9,d11, etc, but nothing seems to really help. i tried predictive but i'm getting crazy rubberbanding so i'll prob need to turn that off i'm new to this game, but it seems i'm not the only one, and like i said, brand new computer 1080ti i5-9600k 16gb ram you get the picture are there logs or something constructive we can provide to help resolve this issue? clearly theres something wrong unrelated but whenever i start my game (standalone launcher) it resets the game from fullscreen to windowed and i can't understand why ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

Hey guys,
I thought I would post a solution. This should hopefully fix the issue as long as your stutter/FPS drop is occurring along side a latency spike. 1. Open command prompt 2. enter the command "ipconfig /flushdns" (no quotations) I hope this helps someone. |

" This is not a solution. Sry. Most of us have this probem couse broken client / servers. |

Bump, because it's still unplayable at primetime.

So, finally decided I wanted to give this new League a shot... And the game is basically unplayable.
WinMTR is showing NO issues at all, but in-game I am getting latency spikes from 300-1500ms out of nowhere, and happening about every 3-10 seconds. This is causing frame-skipping, lag, and other issues that directly impact gameplay performance. Even sitting idle in a hub see the spikes hit, or alone in any map. This is a very quick way to make someone lose their interest in even bothering to play, especially when no such connection issues occur on other online games either. Why would I bother trying to play the game with the inconsistent connection status, versus ANY OTHER game that I could play with no problems? " But this topic does not deal with problems with lags because of the network, so I do not know why you cry here that ping jumps ... This topic concerns problems with FPS drops not related to "Latency". In your case it looks like you have a snooping connection - make a new topic and show logs from WinMTR. I Play on 20-40 ping. It looks like you either play via WiFi or you have a broken router / network cable or something is wrong with your connection. Today... is a bad day :) I press enter - I open the chat window, press ESC to close the chat window. FPS behaves like : http://prntscr.com/m4gp1d I do not use vulgar words but these are some cribs what's happening with this game. I will not mention the game itself ... " Yes, this IS a solution. It was posted specifically to resolve for the OP's problem of simultaneous latency/fps spikes. This has worked for many other people as well as myself. I don't know what YOUR issue is, but certainly complaining that the game is broken then bashing on potential solutions is counterproductive. Some other things that can help: 1. Open nvidia control panel(or AMD equivilent) -> Manage 3D settings -> program settings -> PathOfExile.exe, set maximum pre-rendered frames to 1 2. Find your %temp% folder and delete all contents(leave anything that remains after deleting) 3. Make sure PoE is in Windowed Fullscreen and in your monitors native resolution. In PoE latency is closely tied to frame rate, so having a low and stable latency will help ensure you have a high and stable frame rate. Anyone having concurrent latency/fps spikes or short stutters, try the solution in my first post as well as what I've listed here. |

" This topic does not affect problems with ping / latency spikes - I have a constant 20 ping. Before you start writing nonsense, find out what's going on. More than once I showed a screen shot of what is happening with the game. That is nonsense and unresolved. Maybe for someone who has problems with the connection and few people care about the ping. The publicity described in this topic has absolutely nothing to do with pinging only with the fu**** client from patch 3.5. I'm tired of reading nonsense from someone who does not know what he's talking about. Therefore, if you do not know what you are talking about - do not speak. Opening a stupid chat window results in a spade fps of 0 and it has so much to do with ping / latency as last year's snow. First read - write nonsense later. Maybe someone helped - but this someone had a definite connection problem. Here 99% of people do not have this problem. I will skip the fact in what state and on which servers we play ... If you had a bit of knowledge about what is happening from patch 3.5 - you would know that even computers with graphics 1080/2080 have problems with this game, not to mention the use of memory where definitively and without nonsense of latency and DNS cleaning, the biggest layman finds that something is wrong ... with the client and the servers themselves and not with our equipment. Also on the reedite, a lot of people described this problem and clearly stated that shit has it in common with connection and latency spikes. I would have forgotten ... I have already omitted the fact of totally freezing the game ... at the syndicate :) But you know everything ... I play a much newer and more challenging game without any problem. We all know that this is a game problem, and we wait when GGG finally fixes this contraption. Dernière édition par Orbit84#3143, le 9 janv. 2019 à 16:11:30
