[3.13] SPECTRE SUMMONER (2021 Edition) Necromancer Build. BEST League Starter! + VIDEO GUIDE!

My character, pretty fun so far. I choose to dual wield wants for the max dps and I needed to drop aegis for more life nodes on the tree (I like flame dash + phase run combo anyway). There are some minor changes to the build to try to make it much more tanky against the syndicated content.

Other then that my only problem with this build is I feel pretty squishy against anything remotely challenging. Even with temp chains + enfeeble and extra life still dying random deaths.

I might drop the wand anyway for the shield since it doesn't seem to be that big of a dps increase (actually less damage comparing to the OP setup)

My ST DPS is like 210k per specter fireball vs the 350k of the OP.


Any advice to help out my build?

Why no mind over matter? Doesn't it increase your survivability A LOT for a mere skill point? Even with mind over matter I still end up dying once every 2-5 maps and they're low tier (5-6)

you need a lot of free mana to make MoM effective enough.
You will have no mana to recast skeletons, flesh offering, and shield charge out of danger

A couple more questions:

Have you tried removing a support gem from chest and adding summon phantasms on kill? They also deal AOE damage with the greater multiple projectiles and you can summon like 10 of them since solar guards clear really quick, wouldn't the overall damage be higher with -1 damage mod and 5-10 phantasms up all the time? For bosses this is not possible obviously but for overall map clearing speed.


Also, if you could place an order of importance on the chest gems damage related, what would it be?
Pick up a shield (I don't think you'd lose a lot of DPS since victario's charity gives your minions frenzy charges, get a Rumi's Flask, use shield charge + fortify for more damage reduction, maybe consider using blasphemy so everything that might hit you is sure to be enfeebled.
If you don't mind rearranging your skill tree try getting acrobatics (see my tree for example).

Yeah, I found that this build does a whole lot of damage, but has very few defenses. No block, no evasion, 5k life, low regen, no leech. So I browsed a few other summoner threads and found ways to use their defenses in this build.

I am running Anger without generosity due to lack of links. I have heard that there is a bug with generosity that prevents commander of darkness from working with minions, so i guess that solves that problem. I am also using temporal chains with blasphemy and enhance so that enemies are slowed down a lot. This reserves almost all my mana.

I am also using a curse on hit + ball lightning setup to apply elemental equilibrium and either elemental weakness or flammability. Since my specters do so much damage, this is only really necessary on bosses/syndicate members and tough rares.

Also, I am stacking a bit of attack+spell block. I use rathpith globe and a stone of lazwhar corrupted to allow me to apply an additional curse. I also use rumi's concoction and bone offering to stack more block when needed. (I took mistress of sacrifice instead of puppet master so offerings would apply to me too.)

I am still leveling up, but this feels much safer against some of the more dangerous encounters. Of course spectres do less damage, but still kill most everything instantly. For tougher enemies we have a skeleton army.
Does anyone know how well Victario's Charity works on AG for providing frenzy (with melee splash maybe) and maybe even power charges with culling strike?

Phantasms are not that good in the end game, along with spectres i mean. Since phantasms deal pure physical damage and do not scale with elemental damage

Hi,

I'm really enjoying this build so far on my first real league character and many thanks to Angry_Roleplayer for the detailed build overview. My expirience in PoE isn't really great and since 3 weeks I'm constantly watching youtube videos to close my knowledge gap.

This week I've reached T12+ maps and syndicate members are giving me tough times. I'm kiting them around, seperate the group and constantly moving, but still they are my death reson number one. It's almost funny when I play in a group with my brother (Juggernaut) and he's facetanking the syndicate members, while I'm running around like a headless chicken and try not to die.
Is there any way of LoH or something similar to just give me more survivalbility? Already replaced my Victarios with a Lioneye's Remorse and dropped Necromantic Aegis.

Are there any specters which are "easier" on the eyes? I love the Fire Advocates, but sometimes it's really tough to follow the action on the screen.
