Can boss curse effectivines get changes from less to decreased?
The 60/80% less effect of curses on bosses really hurts builds that rely on curses to increase their damage. An occulist using 2/3 offensive curses loses up to half it's damage on normal bosses, and 2/3th on guardians/Shaper. Even infesting in 'Increase effect of your curses' mods on the tree or gear, doesn't do much, as it get's reduced by the less modifier. Even with the maximum 69% curse effectiveness (25 from Occulist, 40% from the tree, 4% from Conqueror's Potency jewel) your curses are still only 67%/34% effective against bosses.
Changing it from 60/80% less effect to 60/80% reduced effect would make builds that invest in curse effectiveness much better against bosses, while not changing anything for builds that doesn't invest in it. Getting 69% increased curse effectiveness will mean your curses are now 9% more effective against bosses, and just 11% less effective against Guardians/Shaper. Besides the main reason behind the 'Less effect of curses' was the silly level 25, 30+ quality curses you could get in the past, which just doesn't exist anymore. " You've just shown exactly why this had to be changed to 'less effect' in the first place. 11% less effective against guardians/shaper? You can still get a temp chains at level 22 with 60% quality quite easily (well, as easily as getting enhance 4 anyway), which would be a 61% slow. With reduced effect on guardians/shaper, that'd slow them by 54%, which is enough to make them a joke. Similar story with enfeeble, really. (And actually, you'd be able to get up to 79% curse effect, so really they could be at just 1% reduced effect. Or with a proper helm enchant you can hit 109%. And none of this is counting using Dying Breath. And really you could potentially get a level 23 temp chains with 71% quality if you really went hard at it) Curses are freaking strong when they're specced for, strong enough that they pretty much trivialize mobs and could easily trivialize bosses if we went back to the old 'reduced effect' version. " Shouldn't somebody that heavily invest in getting a level 23 temp 71% quality temp chain at least be rewarded on the hardest part of the game? Even with 79% curse effect, a dying sun and a level 23 71% quality temp, you only get a 28% slow on shaper/guardians (If I calculated it right; (31% slow + 0.5*71 slow%) * 1.79 * 1.18 * 0.2) That's lower then a base line level 20 temp chain on a normal add. I don't even know what items that would even require to get, but come on you cannot disagree that even for the main aura the whole less modifier was implemented, the 80% less modifier is just stupidly high. And honestly if the only reason for the curse part is temp chains, maybe just change temp chains or add a less modifier to bosses to the skill itself. It feels wrong that all curses, especially offensive ones, are completely irrelevant on bosses because of 1 defensive one (maybe two if you would include enfeeble). I agree. I am still of firm belief that many Curses should be hella nerfed so bosses don't need to mitigate more than half of your Curse's effect just to be fuckin' balanced. Poacher's Mark has to be almost entirely pointless against Bosses because GGG feels Enfeeble and TC are not blatantly and utterly overpowered against enemies without Curse mitigation. Lovely!
40% from tree, 25% from Occultist, 18% from Dying Breath, 10% from any non-hardcast source of Curses because SCREW HARDCASTERS right, 16% from Atziri's Mirror: 109% Increased Effect. 98% Reduced Accuracy (capped at 75% reduced, oh no) -62 Crit Mult (monsters have 30 by default; red Map crit mod leaves them with 13) 73% Reduced Crit Chance (by far the least impressive) And because that is not enough to entirely ignore every monster: 62% Less Damage. Enfeeble is the most powerful Gem in the game. They notably buffed it in this patch, with Occultist and Atziri's Mirror existing. I don't understand. For shits and giggles: you can get 30% Increased Effect from a hat on top. Against Map bosses, this amounts to the following: 44% Reduced Accuracy -28 Crit Mult 33% Reduced Crit Chance (lol w/e) 28% Less Damage Crits are reduced to 5% Ailment Chance, all Damage is severely reduced, and Attack Bosses can't hit for shit. Occultists are p. solid for general Mapping experiences. Shaper and his cheaters still get away relatively well (half of the above), because 80% Curse Mitigation is way too much. |

" Yep, they should have fixed it when level 25 30% quality curses was meta. They just did a bandaid fix and called it a day. Didn't matter that more than half of the curses became pretty much useless on bosses, especially on guardians and Shaper. Poachers/Warlords barely give any leech, and all the elemental penetration ones barely provide any penetration (~19% with a level 23 gem and 100% curse effectiveness). I guess it's another thing they can add to their list of stuff that needs rebalancing. Dernière édition par Tortunga#5660, le 1 mars 2018 à 08:21:45

The base less effect on bosses is fine, as for the map mod it could be good if it was reduced since curse resistance on mobs pretty much makes the boss fully immune. Think about occultist, you laught at hexproof but a curse resistance map will completely fuck you over.

you are not suppose to trivalize boss fights using curses

" Yeah too bad this means most curses are next to entirely useless against bosses huh there's like three curses that are actually relevant in a boss fight. Good shit. |

" I'm not saying it should, but the less curse effectiveness really hurts builds that rely on curses to increase their damage (Aka Occulists). You lose up to 2/3th of your damage against elders/shaper. My suggestions isn't great, as I didn't think it trough that well, but that doesn't mean curses on bosses are fine. It's silly that just because you can get stupidly high defensive value out of Enfeeble and tc, all the curses should just be terrible against bosses. I agree. If your auras were 60% or 80% less effective against bosses, people would have a shit fit.
