Why doesn't Path of Exile have some form of auto trade?

Like a trade NPC where you set up a tabs that is like a "shop" and he sells it automatically at your set price, but you have to place him in your hideout and people need to come to your hideout to interact with him.The NPC could look like any of your characters, but will have an obvious name like "Merchant" and map icon. I will pay to upgrade tabs to make them ready for shop keeper to auto sell as well and I am sure other people will too.

So many times I have whispered people to buy a 1-5 chaos item but they never respond. I even spam whispered whole pages on poe.trade and no one would whisper back to trade. I was looking for a divine vessel to purchase btw. Since I got no one to respond while I spammed maps and every time I finished I spammed another page on poe.trade. I use a flicker strike build btw so maps are at most ~3 mins or less. I might have wasted more time on the trading pages then playing the game today honestly.

This experience so far really put me off playing the game as I really wanted to upgrade my pantheon and "progress".

Summary: If trading were "easy", people wouldn't need to store stuff.

simply put, ggg don't want to balance the game around trade as a required aspect of gameplay. (plenty of the playerbase never once interacts with others)

So, they keep trade as it is. Bilateral markets, players have to talk to one another. Put another way, they intentially kept trade low-tech to make sure it isn't so accessible.

Take it or leave it. A lot of people hate the reasoning. GGG have stuck to their guns on this since forever, so it's not really worth too much effort.

I already read the trading manifesto and I believe it is garbage.

People don't trade much because its too painful and time consuming to do. People who are dedicated traders have tabs full of items to trade. If I could automatically sell hundreds of 1 alch - 1 chaos items without interrupting my grind or mapping then I would completely pay for that convenience and I am sure said buyers will enjoy not being ignored too.

Also, painful and time consuming is a bit melodramatic. I just twinked a new character to rush for a few chaos in about 5 minutes before starting a new playthrough. SO painful, that I had to copypaste messages to about 10 individuals and visit 5 hideouts.

Buying can be relatively painless, despite the number of sellers who don't actually want to sell.

Selling on the other hand is a PITA if what you want to do is play the game, and not a trade simulation. I don't sell.

GGG considers it to be working as intended and considers me to be a peon. So be it.

well like it or not thats their stance on the matter and has been for some time

all I can say is thank god they added trade via stash tabs

before that... well those were dark days

You're deluded if you think you could sell 100 items. There just isn't that much demand for them. You think everyone could sell 100 items? What makes your items so spectacular? You might sell one. Or two. The rest would sit there with the 1,000,000+ other items other players put up.
