PoE and bots.

Yeah it's rampant everywhere. GGG needs to fix this. I have to say I find the whole idea repulsive. People scream about the lab, and game balance, and this map boss, and who the hell knows what all.
But the one thing that would take all interest for this game away from me is RMT. What the hell is the point of playing if you can just whip out a cc and buy stuff?

NONE

Death to RMT

Ps. Pretty tired of rmt'ers telling me because I didn't find 80 ex first day of league I'm a shit player especially when 1st day they are still in normal.

Man RMT is not a problem at all...

Ofc you can buy anything for real money, but it could cost like 300$ per perfect item...
For me, and I belive for majority of players its big money to spend it on a game, ofc there is some players who got a realy good income and could invest 1000$ and more for support pack etc, but I dont think there is a lot of ppl who can spend that amount.

So for example if rmt is legal, are you going to spent 1000$+ to buy a perfect items?
I belive answer is no.

But bots is a real problem here.
Because bots farm 24/7 they decrease value of currency, couse of huge income, and for you (as non bot user) it means to buy a wanted item you have to spend more time farming currency.
So it delay your progress and probably you going to stack greeding bored content.

I dont care if some rich person go and buy good items with rmt and did all content in a week, I care that every day every ligue I have to spend more time farming currency couse boters killing my byer potential.

It's a big problem for a lot of mmo's. I hope they are able to find these botters and make sure they are banned forever to playing POE.
There are two major problems:
1. people need money to live, not everyone can work a real job and some grind games to sell ingame stuff to get money to sustain their real life. For them it's a way of living and yes, such people exist and there is a ton of them all over the world.
2. digital games are programmed, so when player splay them they behave like bots. Sometimes very specialized and experienced bots. This makes it virtually possible to create programs who behave like players. After all, learning the game is all about finding the way to play it to succeed and in PoE it's all about developing a character to the certain point and then doing same, basic actions over and over again.
While the two above facts are true, there always will be bots. You will ban one, another one will be created. You'll find one forum, another one will be made because the inflow is sustained. They don't care that this ruins the game, but are doing it for own profit, just like the majority of the players play for their own fun.
Bots create radiculous inflations of +300-500% to market prices in games, thats nothing new. It will kill economy fast and discourage many players from playing the game since farming 5 times more than you should for a piece of gear is just feeling unfair.
Bots in POE arent so visible and dont bother people so much, because everybody here run on seperate maps. If it was shared map like in MMORPGs then you wouldnt have a place to farm cuz everything would be crowded with bots probably.

All games are now full of hacks, popular RPG games are flooded with bots to farm/lvl where FPS games are floded with aimbots.

I remember when I was playing Crysis 2 with my friend when it was in closed beta (almost release). We were playing it for like 2 weeks and we had scores per match like 7 kills 10 deaths on avarange.
After that time there was game patch that focused on blocking hack. The day they put it on server was like a charm - me and my friend scores went to like 20 kills 2 deaths. We though it was like "wut, matchmaking go broken or lucky match?". Nope, we were on rampage for 4 whole days like that. After that everything went back to normal and people yet again started having unnatural reflekses and shoting you thru smoke/invisiblity and so on.

Thats how games are now, full of unskilled people who love to hack. The best solution is in korea - in order to register in game you gotta input real personal data and validate it via real mail/phone etc. Also their law system incorporate it, so when they catch you hacking or boting you are not only gonna get banned.

Man Idea with real person data and validation is amazing.
it could reduce amount of unfair players a lot.
Even if ppl registr a wrong phone number or pasport and if they get banned they have to buy new phone number, and for many coutryes it is problematic to buy fake phone number.

Sounds like a good plan, reduce average unfair players by strong validation rules, and then fight pro-boters manualy.
In some games admins who noticed strange activity in game, send a messega or create a special unusual even for this potential bot and record its reaction on it.

It's official: I am a fan of herflik!

Totally amazing idea. The nuisance factor is completely outweighed by the positive benefits. I would fully support this.

I've been saying this forever.

Botting in PoE is absolutely rampant. It's rampant because RMT is extremely profitable. People RMT because they feel like their time is being wasted. It's been better the past few leagues where GGG has been ramping up drop rates and making it much easier to play the game rather than engage in trade.

However, my #1 suggestion would just be to make the game less grindy. The goal of the game is to encourage player interaction? Get it through other ways then trade. The emphasis on trade is actually what is driving botters into the game.
The fact that players a willing to pay real money for in game currency in temp leagues shows how fucked up the game is at this point.

I did a quick search and while there are some POE only sites (tho they can be owned by the same groups that run other sites of this kind), most of them are generally against the TOS of games RMTs and stuff on a huge number of games with a lot more players and reasons to buy shit.

IMO most of the people running this sites just expanded to POE cause they already had the infrastructure.

If GGG is not involved directly in this, but has done nothing to avoid it, I think best case scenario the bots inflate the actual number of players so better not to talk about that.

I don't think is reasonable to state that those sites make a huge income off this game.

I would bet is a mix of marketing to make more players aware of their "service" with a "why not" if the cost to implement is almost null.

In Valve's skins case, Valve made a killing with all those players really motivated to buy and sell skins and key and cases. They literally took a stake in that side of the market even if we are to believe they were not involved directly in the other sites engaging in illegal activities.

In GGG's case, they do not have that interest, so the question on why are they allowing this to continue, past the innocent "more players, good marketing", takes us to really dark places, we are not to talk about without evidence.
