" I don't think PoE makes more, Diablo 3 has made well into the billions just from the 30 million copies not including the following expansion packs. Besides if PoE made over a billion dollars I doubt for something as basic as trading system would still be handled by 3rd party. The sound system wouldn't have been kept so shitty for over 3 years. There would be some kind of combatlog support if not also with combat texts. There would be multi-core as well as 64-bit client and a full engine optimization would have been released if not ported to a modern graphic engine and so on. You know just some of the basic functionalities that most games released after 2003 would have... Therefore I don't think PoE has made billions of dollars. The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change. Welcome to PoE. Dernière édition par Pewzor#2343, le 2 juin 2016 à 09:58:03

Diablo also had that real money auction house, they had to have made good money from that I am still surprised they got rid of it.
Its kinda apples and oranges due to the size of the companies but both are good games which have only gotten better with time and updates. I am prob a little more partial to path, they are a great example how a F2p game with an honest cash shop work. |

Oh the auctionhouse I sold a couple rings 100+ Euros, that was super weird.

" How has it made well into the billions? 30m copies would need to be sold with Blizzard making $67 per purchase for it to even get into the billions (ie 2billion plus). We don't know if that figure includes the expansion (which has always had a lower RRP that that) and for much of it's lifetime the base game has had a much lower RRP (it is currently being sold for $20) I would suggest that figure is far lower. When you also factor in the fact that there have been a lot of physical copies sold via 3rd party stores then that reduces the profit even further. |

" Actually blizzard made well into the billions region easily. Especially when they had real money AH up as well as all the expansions. Most sales on the game is made when the game came out, if you think Blizzard would release Diablo 3 or any of it's expansions at a $20 price tag when they were brand new, you are clearly delusional. The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change.
Welcome to PoE. |

I prefer to look at twitch viewers even though that is highly dependent upon personalities and game-events.
Clearly Diablo 3 has more of a player base, but there are times that PoE surpasses them in viewership. That's absolutely stunning considering before these games released almost no one had heard of PoE and everyone and their mother knew about Diablo. |
