Damage "more" Multipliers and their Interactions
" Right, when you have fortify you take 80% of damage, fortify+shock will raise it to 130% which is 130/80=62% more damage relative to your fortified state. ya hes looking at how much damage you take with an abyssus on before you get shocked, then how much you take after you are shocked, and making the comparison there.
If the damage being delt is 100, then an abyssus user is already taking 140 damage before they are shocked, 190 damage after they are shocked. If the damage is 100 to the fortify user, they are taking 80 damage before the shock and 130 damage after they get shocked. So they both take 50 extra damage points from a 100 damage hit, but that extra 50 is a smaller % of the 140 the abyssus user was already taking compared to how big a % of 80 it is when looking at the fortify user. 50 goes almost 3 times into 140, but it doesnt even go twice into 80. If fortify was 50% reduced damage taken then it would reduce the 100 hit to 50, then adding in the +50% from shock would take it back up to 100%. So this would be a 100% extra damage you take because you have gone from taking 50 damage to 100 damage, its doubled the amount of life youll lose. But its still just adding 50 damage same way it is with all the setups, its just that 50 is bigger or smaller % increase when compared with what you were taking without the shock. If fortify was 99% reduced damage taken you would only take 1 damage from a 100 damage hit, but then add back the 50 from shock and you jump from taking 1 damage to 51, thats.. whatever, bad maths, 5000% extra damage taken? Still just 50 actual damage like all the examples but as a % change its massively different. if its still not clear just say, im sure raics or myself will find another way of wording an example that clicks into place. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
