" As mentioned a couple times in this thread, because Supports grant all their modifiers to linked Skills (as opposed to doing anything on their own), Phys-to-Light also does not scale down to fit. :) |

I just looked at your first calc, there is only one mistake, already pointed out by Viper. In Aof with elemental damage it "blocks" the conversion from physical to fire. However, in a "pure increased physical"-build it does not make you lose dps, but gives added lightningdamage and lets "more weapon elemental" be applied to all damage. In this case Cold to Fire is a waste. Phys to Light is quite good with this build, but xince your explosion hits like a duck you need "meele splash". Therefore you need another gem to take out for Phys to Lightning. I tested all possibilites and in the end two got close: 6L (IB, MoreMeele,MeeleSplash, AddedFire, MoreELe, Multi) - 63k dps 6L (IB, MoreMeele,MeeleSplash, AddedFire, MoreELe, FirePen) - 60k dps For a comparison: 6L (IB, MoreMeele, MeeleSplash, AddedFire, MoreEle,PhystoLight) - 59k dps Of course I would choose the second one, since the explosion is affected by FirePen. Phys to Lighning is in the end not that bad, but simply overthrown by other Gems. Only for people who want to know more about IB I recommend to avoid going AoF with pure "increased physical", even if it is a popular thing to do. You actually waste points you could spend in increased physical and loose some Aura stuff. The last bet and option is going for AoF with some"increased Phys" at the start to get finally to the Firenodes. Stack "increased Fire/Elementaldamage", try to get 25% ignite chance, since you cannot crit. And there you go: In this setup my sinlge target DPS is stronger than physical IB, although the tooltip would show otherwise. Ignite ticks is not considered there. This assumes you are able to hold on a Stack of ignite on the target, should be possible with 25% if the target is not dead in one hit. In this setup you dont need Meelesplash, although it is not bad. The explosion does about 5 times of the damage it would do in the physical build. In this setup Lightning to phys causes a raw loss of damage. Cold to fire is quite good in this set, since it gives you 130% of hatred instead of 50% (due to AoF). "Faster Attacks" is a little but stronger (92k dps vs 89k dps).But i take CtF for ignite damage. Why faster Attacks and not Multi, you migh think? Multistrike weakens the ignite damage and makes the overall dps even lower than using CtF. Also nice to know: the physical setup is stronger with dualwield, while the elemental is stronger with a 2handed weapon, even stronger than DW-Doriyanis Catalyst. The differences are not big, but its quite cool to know. I think the highest dps of IB possible is an elemental-critbuild with 2h, since ignite would lay down the world in fire, but this is simply not possible, because you have no points for critical-,firedamage-,defensive, and accuracy nodes.
