 Thats just a inspiration what i think the final boss could look like. Its pure and uncontrolled evil destroying/twisting every living beeing. Maybe it has not a physical body at all and was bound by the ancient Vaal with their mechanical instruments to this dimension (in crystals,mechanical devices, body's). From what i know the Vaal's ultimative goal was to ascend and meet a unknown 'communion'. This communion was maybe the 'beast' themself or the realm where it dwells. Because it is not bound to mortal flesh it has some kind of immortality, but the 'price' for that immortality is huge from what we know... ps. don't make it a dragon it would be to cliche ;) Masterpiece of 3.16 lore "A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see.
