Masterpiece of 3.16 lore
"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

I just hope whatever GGG decides the final boss is, isn't something everyone hates to fight. Make it interesting, unique, and not "work".
PoE is not really Cthulhu type.

Try Darkest Dungeon, now that thing is Cthulhu type.

Or a table top game Arhkam Horror. It has "ancient ones" as "bosses", here is a list of them http://www.arkhamhorrorwiki.com/Ancient_One

Having these omnipotent figures in games kinda sucks. Why can't it be on a "mortal" scale.

Cthulhu is a being that makes your soul explode just by looking at him, and here you are, swinging your level 58 mace at him.

I mean check this shit,

If this thing comes into play, you die right away, world is destroyed.

Tho dragons and "organ monsters" are kind old theme too... maybe we can see mecha?

Fighting a simple man, who was cursed with immortality and was building all this corruption shit, just for you to kill him, would be just perfect for me.

You are somehow right. The boss is Malachai who caused another catalysm ( i think) and you have to kill him to destroy the beast

I am still convinced that there is this big evil, who you can define by a name "Beast", and you know its location. Like literally "its that mountain, left path on the right". This ancient evil, that no one gives a shit about, manipulated Malachai into all of this.

I kind of hope that plot shall be more complicated than that. I am not a pro writer or something like that, but these plot twists about "Oh my god! Its -HIM-! Ancient evil no one knew about till 5 minutes ago!". We have this manipulating everywhere:

Mister Sinister, Apocalyso, Beyonders, Celestials, Thanos in Marvel Universe
Paralax, Chrona, Death (Black Lantern stuff) in DC Universe
Mangas are full of this (Gantz, Naruto, Bleach, Ubel Blatt, Guyver)
Even Sherlock Holmes has this big evil that lives in the Random Street XY and has a name Professor James Moriarty

I am trying not to rant as hard as i can, but this just got frustrating. I liked PoE for that concept of mortality we had. Everything was Mortal vs Mortal. Even Piety fit in there perfectly.
Then Facehuger Dominus Happened. And now we have a god entity in Act 4, sitting on the mountain, first turn on left path, next to the bloody river.
