why can't skill tree points be reset?

One of the few complaints we have about the game is that the skill tree points can not routinely be reset. What is the logic behind this decision by the developers? We have recently returned to the game and the main issue holding us back from jumping right in, is that it is SO critical when it comes to the skill tree points. If you make a mistake, or learn as you play it, why a slightly different version would have worked better. In most games we have played, it is permissible to alter your build as you see fit. Is there any chance that the developers will ever allow us to reset our skill tree points as we see fit and allow us to freely experiment? In our humble opinion it would make the game far more enjoyable as well as deserve.

1) you have 12-14 refund points at the end of act3 merciless
2) you always can buy regrets /also chance orbs->scourings->regrets from a vendor/, but if you need more than normal 12-14 refund points from the quests +4-5 regrets, it's better to create new character with the better skill tree+until you develop the new character you'll get some gems and orbs which is good for you /+the first one can be used very nice after skill tree reset after a new big patch |

The reason is that the devs dont want you to respec on the fly for every situation. They want your build to matter. If you made a few mistakes you get almost 20 respec points from the side quests alone for that. If you fucked up your build you can make an other character. Learning how the game works and planning your build accordingly is one of the main reason why people here enjoy this game. Free respec will make that go.

They want you to use brainz to make a char and build work and if you make mistakes and reset them every time you did something wrong you dont learn anything. Its like cheating in a math test. You got 24 char slots, lvling to 60 is not an issue and you get regret orbs and refund points from quests. What more do you want?
