Remove alt f4 plz.
" How do you screw up and then claim it's no fault of your own? |

Personally, I think it's cheap to save your butt by Alt+F4-ing out of the game and anyone who uses it, especially in HC, is pretty much cheating. It's probably by design - because they do have to protect people from legit disconnections somehow - but I wouldn't mind it being changed.
What have you become when even nightmares fear you?

It's fair if everyone uses it. With the bugs, desyncs and crashes that are still around a good way to save your character.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

I somewhat agree with Dorakz, although doing it right now with the dcs/crashes/desyncs would generate such amount of whining that we would want to rip our eyes out.
When the servers and the game are stabilized they should take a look into this, atleast for future ladders because this one can't be saved anymore apparently. " I disagree, affects the whole ladder. Weaklings can't pick their way of death.

" Again, no. I don't want to be harsh but : seems like you can see further than you own nose. It affects the whole concept of ladders and Hardcore mode. If you can't identify a good player from someone who cheat death when he's in danger what's the point of classing them ? If you play in a mode where death is permanent, what's the point of allowing a method to bypass the said death ? See further than your nose. I'm sure you will see that there's an issue. They should definitely remove instant logout when the content has been fine-tuned a little. All hardcore players use it basically every day to survive, nobody would have been higher than level 70 or so on hardcore if you couldn't do this. A few things need to be changed before it's reasonable, though, because some mobs and mechanics are a little over the top right now. I can see a 5-second logout delay being implemented one or two patches down the line.

Well, I'll tell you what this "function" reminds me of...
It reminds me of people that live stream their games and the title they put is something like "dead is dead" to indicate if their character dies they will start over. I can't tell you how many people that I've watched in other games that are playing dead is dead that will load up a save because they thought something was unfair in the game. It seems to me that this situation is stuck between a rock and a hard place, on one hand you have the possibility of the game freezing or doing something equally as bad and the player needs to alt+f4 to get out of the game, on the other hand you have a hardcore mode that should not allow Alt+F4 as an emergency safety net to avoid death. I doubt that the game will ever be 100% stable enough that it will never have a reason to not use ALT+F4 for a game related issue so what do you do? The only thing I could come up with (although I admit I only thought about it for literally about 6 seconds) is that the developers would need to insert something in the character that says that Alt+F4 was used and maybe how many times it's been used in that characters lifespan, at least in that way people can generally tell if there was a time or two that the game fudged up and the user had to Alt+F4 out of the game or if they abuse it because that character has had it used 6734 times over it's lifetime. But this would somehow need to be stored securely so that cheaters can't just do some fancy code magic to edit it away. Now when I watch live streamers and they say their game just crashed, I'm going to have to wonder if they just hit Alt+F4 because they thought they were about to die. Chris Wilson said it himself that this is intended. They want players to have the ability to rage quit to save themselves. Just like in D2.

If instant quitting is intended to be removed later in the game then it should be removed now, to allow for testing (During the beta) the system out good and proper.
The time spent between now and the final release can also be spent checking for other known ways of bypassing death and other exploits. Computer specifications:
