Microtransaction prices - a bit too high?
Its the new way to make money. Cant you see the numbers of Free to Play games constantly coming out?
They have the perfect excuse when things goes wrong. Desync in this case, "but hey its a free to play game". Same with all the other F2P games. I spent over $200 in Mechwarrior online. Used to play LoL, dont even know how much I spent there... and the list goes on. In some cases these F2p games makes more money than a Triple A game. |

Wikipedia is currently on the scrounge for cash. I strongly advise anyone with spare cash to help these people.
That's the kind of time when I feel guilty for not being able to contribute in a meaningful way. With PoE, it would be similar, but I can't play at the moment due to being in a internet near black-hole for this type of on-line activity. I recently upgraded my mobile phone and my area is also a mobile signal black-hole. I can walk round my house and disconnect myself. But when I joined the first time in closed Beta I was in a great inner-city location with a booming signal, I paid the $7.50 but there weren't microtransactions then. When I moved and had to join again, also in closed beta, I paid another $7.50 but this time had 100 points to spend on microtransactions. I took a look at them and was, like, shit, I can't afford ANY of those. I bought a lavendar (?) weapon effect on sale for 15 points. I would have really liked the summons statues, but they were WELL out my points, and they never went on sale in the time I was regularly playing (or trying to play in my new circumstances). So I sit here with 85 points I have no idea what to do with. Have these types of businesses ever thought about microsubscriptions instead, each month of $1.99 gives you 25 points or something? I liked the report on whales that other poster posted, but has anyone ever studied microsubscriptions? |

Much desync. Such rewarding. Wow. According to forum mods "sandwich" is considered an offensive word. Who knew? |

Do you think they really blindly just put prices on these transactions without running any numbers? I promise you they went with the model that maximized their profits.

" difference is that when a game cost $50-60 everyone who wants to play it has to pay that $50. In this game the incentive to buy a mtx is very small (basically a donation unless you really care how you toon looks) so many fewer player wil spend $50+ I chance to say very few actualy spend that. When players have to purchase a game even if they dont like it and play for only one hour you can charge less per player purchase. imagine if only 20% of people who bought a xbox1 had to pay for it, how much would a xbox1 cost you think to recoup those cost. |

The pricing is fine for the "core" group. It is prohibitive for many. I can guarantee that if the MTX prices were $1 I would own them all by now vs. the current price system in which I own none.
My wallet doesn't feel a $1 but it does $20. I appreciate every supporter who lets me play for free. If I could spend a buck or 2 at a time I surely would. Hell I do on Android games on my tablets and Kindle E-Books. Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.
Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :( Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt. |

They could fix it. Just give everyone every MTX item and add a sub fee of 50 bucks. Oh wait, it's a free to play game and the transactions are 100% voluntary. Stop bitching that something you want costs money

The prices seems to be normal for f2p microtransactions. I've spent thousands on other f2p games.
Also, I just had a look at blizzard's store, and was surprised to see WoW pets being sold between $15-$30. |

I've always thought that GGG's price are far to high and that they would sell much more if their prices were lower.
I'm weird...for example, I wont buy a single premium stash tab at $4 but I'd buy 20-30 if they were $1. For me a Microtransaction is $1 or less. :-) Ascension tied to Lab is the worst thing GGG has done...apart from GGG's philosophy on Trading. Oh and Gambling Loot boxes. And selling out to tencent.
I used to love GGG. I supported to ensure GGG remained independent, now I just wish I could get my money back. -_- |

" u "wont" spend 4$ for a tab, but you are a diamond supporter.... strange |
