90% of my deaths are from LAG!

As others have said in this thread and numerous other threads concerning desync, there will be NO solution to it unless GGG abandons their position on the server/client interaction, and the odds of that are so remote, i'd probably have better luck winning the lottery. And even if they did, i doubt they have the $ for a total redesign/re-release of the engine.

Though i am curious as to how we get a semi-constant supply of spammers in the global chats advertising pay-for-currency websites, if there is little to no hacking going on... (ya know..the whole reason why GGG insisted on making the client/server interaction the way they did)

So with that being said, i'm also wondering WHY IN THE HELL ggg insists on supporting content that enhances our desyncing headaches, and adding new content that does the same.

Mobs that use well-known desync-enchaning skills? (such as charge, leapslam, whirlwind, ect) Check.

Timed content that pretty much forces players to rush thru or ignore most mobs on the quest/map, making you rubber-band back and forth, and significantly increase your chance of death? Check.

Still maintain an XP penalty on death for cruel/merci, when a significant percentage of player deaths are solely to blame on desync, an issue ENTIRELY out of players control? Check.


At the very least, GGG, turn off the xp penalty. You've already practically gutted one of your core leagues (HC) due to desync frustration..prob not a smart financial move to constantly piss off the portion of your community that's dedicated enough to your product to play at end-game, where xp loss is most frustrating and time/effort destroying..

XP penalty MUST be totally removed (at least in standard!!!). Not all players are "fools" who enjoy wasting their time RE-aquiring the losed exp in the name of a stupid "hardcore" word!! This is A GAME, and a game SHOULD BE FUN, NOT FRUSTRATION!!!!

This is true. 1 death frustration can worth many fun moments. While you decisions on adding xp penalty, certain gems, Haku, and others things are good but many of it doesnt work well in desycable game. So you gotta do something with desync or stop creating content that leads to huge desync.

Many says desync is unavoidable, because it's one and one thing with the core engine. So remove that exp loss by the God!!! -.-
Removing xp penalty would be the most idiotic move ever...Desync/lag and other shitty deaths are frustrating but if you running maps with 2k hp and crappy defenses/mitigation that's your own fault.

Make a better build, if you're dying 10 times a day problem is somewhere else...

He is saying removing the penalty for the .0001% of deaths caused to desync rather then a poor build overall isn't worth it.

Think about never loosing XP, then go ask a HC player what they think about losing XP when they die. It used to be 15% or more for a death in merciless, now its a more reasonable number. The deaths caused by desync should be far and few. Helping plan a build that can survive (and binding macro for /oos) will allow you to play in such a manner where desync deaths shouldn't happen.

.0001% deaths you say? So its only 1 death to desync out of 10 000 deaths? What I like about PoE community is everyone so correct in numbers.

Also i didnt say I want to remove penalty. But I want the penalty to be reduced

Further reduction would make the XP penalty pointless. The numbers don't really matter if its 1/10,000 or 1/1,000 the deaths from desync, THAT CAN'T BE AVOIDED is far less then deaths caused by poor build defenses.

Ofc not but i see people complaining about dying 10+ times a day, you can't blame dsync for that...

Game has dysnc issues and taking few extra hp nodes is not a bad idea :))

I don't play HC beacuse of those issues but you probably know that hc toons are build around dsync...(/oos button every 5 sec, multiple layers of defense,...) and somethimes you still die...

It's a huge problem but there are plenty of games out there...
