Pretty well finished with POE.

Current economy is best economy.

Diablo 2 proved that gold is invalid currency for arpg games. No one used gold as currency only gems charms torches, or other shit.

Honestly I think gold in D2 was no different than these orbs. Its because you could use gold to buy stuff from the gambler and have just as much of a chance, or better in getting something good as you do with most of these orbs. The problem is these orbs are the only currency in the game. IMO its no different at all. The thing about gold in D2 is that it was a cheap enough resource that most players could afford to "gamble" it. Runes were the solid currency in D2, and what makes them better than orbs is that runes were guaranteed to do something good. The economy was kept in check by inactive accounts getting wiped, and all items they possessed got wiped along with it.

Then don't gamble them. Trade them for the items you do need.

Btw, when you were farming. What was your MF?

I normally ran with about 130-140 IIR, and about 30-40 IIQ. I couldn't get much more than that without completely gimping my character. That gear that has everything you need + IIR + IIQ is very rare and expensive stuff. Far outside of my scrub budget.

Also, I never team anymore, ever. Because the few times I've teamed, its been with ninja looting cunts. One of them snatched a chaos orb with my name on it and I was pretty pissed about it. On another occasion a unique deer skin gloves dropped with my name on it, and I'm sure you know what that was, and a ninja looting cunt snatched it. From what I hear that is a typical experience with teaming with random scrubs. I don't know anyone personally who plays this game that I can trust to not be a ninja looting cunt, so I just don't team.

After an hour of farming I considered myself VERY lucky if I saw an alchemy, fusing, scouring drop, and chaos or above was almost non-existent. Best orb I ever saw drop was a regal. And I heard those are only worth 2 chaos. Found 2 uniques, both were junk, and gave them to random noobs, one was that redbeak sword, the other a low level junk bow. Figures if I do find one its gonna be the most useless ones possible, lol.

Don't feel bad about uniques. Most of them don't have much value. At least most of them are getting buffed for open beta!
Standard Forever
I just wanna jump in here and say "the uniques" (redbeak etc) are not trash. In fact, if utilized at the proper entry level, they can be VERY fucking powerful indeed.

Yes, theres a few uniques that make you think *wat da fuq*, but for the most part , they all have a purpose to them.

Generally speaking though, at late game, your going to be crafting and waring rare gear that far outweighs almost if not all uniques.

Just as an eg: my lvl 2 shadow wearing two x Redbeaks, with Dual Strike deals 101.1 DPS/ Thats fucking Uber sauce at that level.

Just my thoughts.

Cheers.

Any info on which ones are getting buffed? I know quite a few of them are worth basically nothing, not even an alchemy orb. I'd say 1/2 the uniques in the game are worth less than a chaos orb.

Crafting? You shouldn't assume. Its not like crafting is that useful of a mechanic. People have already said you can buy the stuff they spent 50GCP crafting for probably 5GCP or less. That doesn't sounds like an economy that is going to work in the end, especially with a larger player base. I believe the price of orbs is going to eventually go way down, with the exception of a few, and the price of gear will go way up. GCPs will eventually be worth more than exalted orbs, because they have a guaranteed result.

Ah ha - but you see ... someone DID craft it , so the mechanic has its purpose embedded after all , not an assumption, fact. Now not all gear is crafted , but alot of those 5l 6l were.

Again, not assumption.

You may not craft , but others are, and thats how ALOT of it is getting into the economy.

Thanks for telling me i assume something that is well known fact though.

Cheers.

I actually vendored a level 28 5 slot linked evade armor, I figured one of the level 28 PVP twinks wanted it, but nobody wanted to even give me a GCP for it, so I vendored it out of spite. So I figure they must like spending 50+ fusing to make their armor instead.

I've done that with several rares that were decent. I "spite" vendor stuff all the time. I found a level 35 bow with 98 max physical + 14-27 cold 14-28 fire and 2-38 lightning, + 10% IAS 3L green, nobody would even give me a chaos orb for it, so I vendored it. For a level 35 bow, that was pretty well godly.

I feel like if I had a better place to market items, I wouldn't have to "spite" vendor stuff, and I'd get a fair price instead of people offering low ball offers. 99% of the rares I found I didn't even attempt to try to sell in global. In a way it felt like D3, because I had the same experience there. 99% of the rares I found weren't even worth putting on the AH.
