It is a very helpful recipe for most SUPPORT gems, but not skill gems. If you have a level 20 fast cast or item rarity, of course you would do this recipe. A Q20 faster cast will equal a level 20 0q Faster Cast at around level 14, which you can get in around an hour. For spells, like Freezing Pulse or Spark, it would be silly to use this recipe.

people CAN level gems in extra slots thats why people are freaking out
not cus they think everyone is gonna take all their gems and make them 20% level 1s

Yep, we can do that. I've got 6 very often used gems leveling in my swap slots right now, I don't know why, I've just always done it. The thing is, I don't think people realize how long it takes to get a gem to level 20. My character is sitting 10% under level 82, and the gems are at level 19.15.

GCP WILL fall in value. Whether it should or not doesn't really matter. It's all virtual, and just like the US stock market, it all comes down to 'investor confidence.' I sold all of mine for chaos at a very slight loss (11chaos to 3 gcp) as soon as I heard about the recipe. GCP have already been 1:2 chaos in Onslaught for a long time, and I'm pretty sure it will end up about there in the other leagues as well.
