Or having viewers just give gear during races.

Now you show that you are just making shit up.

Kripp never accepts free stuff, EVER. Not during races, not outside races. It's his #1 rule.

Please fanboy... stop acting like your know everything about your idol.

Playing Solo + Selfound/Selfcrafting is the ultimate challenge.

However I fail to see why you would want to rank people who intentionally handicap themselves as better overall

I don't know how much experience with gaming you have overall, but so far, all best and most skilled players, in most games I played would be the ones who on purpose handicap themselves and then win/accomplish things with pure skill for the sake of challenge, this however doesn't mean "I play solo" by any means.

Good examples would be naked pvp chars in most RPG's or even look to any 2D castlevania game and how so many players on purpose use worst weapon, no other gear and plays with a rule to never get hit even once, or how people would kill bosses without gear/using as bad items as possible/using lvl 1 chars.

handicapping yourself is a good way to improve. But when playing solo = handicap, then it's bad.

The best player will always be unknown.

They will never whine about desync. Probably never try for the top of the ladders.

But most importantly, if they post on the forums it will always be helpful, well thought out, and correct. If they post about a problem in the game, it will be true bugs and glitches.

This.

Such a good point. Such a bloody good point.

And it's a real commentary on our deficiency as a society to notice true heroes, when all we do is bask in controversies and so-called acts of altruism.

I don't know if you're reading this, unsung hero, O silent legend complaining not about adversity but instead forging on relentlessly, helping others and making the world that little bit better for all of us, but thank you!

The person closest to this that comes to mind is Devmoon. But then again I don't watch his stream, I find watching people play PoE boring. I do however check his new builds and what he's up to every now and then. His forum posts are very helpful (although he doesn't post a lot), he is very knowlageable about the game and I haven't seen him whine/rage/whatever ever.

the devs play poe and they made the game so i vote they are the best :D

can i have free RNGS now?
Why do veteran Diamond supporters always sound like the hipster whose favorite band suddenly became popular? You're not so special anymore, sorry. The game didn't get any worse with a larger community. It has improved considerably since CB. Stop asking for it back. As for the unjustified hate and downplaying of Kripp, do you feel slighted that he wields more influence than you over your precious game?

I have a ton of respect for you, but you're not making sense, Charan. First, you blame Kripp for his community, which he barely interacts with, so there can't possibly be any correlation between the two. Then, you say he breaches NDA for viewer counts; every time I watch, he asks Chris for permission first. And if you watch him, you know he tries to minimize controversy as much as he can. He actively tries to not give people a reason to hate him. Finally, you say he's not winning Descent races as templar. Could there possibly be a class balance problem? Duelist seems the way to go for a fastrack to the front page. He also just needs to adjust his strategy. It's a new ballgame after all, they were just released. And after trying to discredit Kripp through his racing laurels, or lack of, you say the unsung heroes are the real winners. The ones not coming in first every race. Kripp tries to help the community through his videos and stream, just as you say about the unsung heroes. He even acknowledges not everyone will find his videos helpful; he's trying to help everyone.

I usually lurk on these forums, but the hate for Kripp himself (which he basks in), not his fanboys who make a new thread everyday about him, is disgusting to me. It reflects poorly on the community as much as the trolling and otherwise rude behavior.

I have no idea whats up with the diamond bashing, they helped make the game.. And the game did get worse with the larger communtiy, you joined in december, in december close to OB the community already got huge and started to get very shitty, you dont know how the community was 10 months ago

With that i agree, kripp gets hate because he has incredibly stupid fans, he is acutally a nice guy.

The inherent problem with talking about something 10 months ago is that the mind has a tendency to downplay the bad and focus on the good in our memory. Moreover the community is likely the same, however an upscaling of the amount of people within it causes a feeling of disenfranchisement. Likely the community has the same balance of people you like and people you dislike, an increase in size however has a magnifying effect on the aspects of the community you consider negative, since it makes itself apparent more often (even though relative to the amount of people it's occurring at the same rate).

Kripp? HvR? Bitch please.

The correct answer is: cwu.

In solo races alone, cwu has 28 first-place finishes (not first in his class, just straight-up first place), and I'm guessing nearly a hundred Demigods by now, including one for every single class in the game (although he mostly has played duelist with a side of templar).

And frankly it's utter nonsense that this thread is on 9 pages and not a single mention of him yet.
