How many people actually play PoE

I think we on about 8 or 9 now!
In only a matter of days we went from 1 to 9, that should tell you something!
We made it to 10!
When night falls
She cloaks the world
In impenetrable darkness

not so many

judging by my social tab (parties) it is a barren desert. sadly currently there is 0 open parties for docks farming.. there are many closed etc, but when i started playing there were few pages of these

also - why play when you know that you 'need' to go sporker if you want to be successful? (i know it isnt 100% true, but be assured that this is the common preconception about these things)

also global chat, trade chat - i start to recognize names in trade chat! and these are names of ingame characters, not accounts..

havent seen request for low lvl gear in chat for 8 days in a row

if it has been a single player game - i wouldnt give a f.. but this is a always on game, so it requires constant money flow for servers. these arent cheap. so i expect sudden shutdown if the game does not play as well as expected. simply - money has to be made at some point.

Sounds like you are playing in one of the dead leagues.

this make me laugh... i tried onslaught league since a week now and it s deserted like softocre default. There is even half the notice board in act1 full of RMt sellers instead of parties.

You will tell me people might play private... but if newcomers can t even find public parties anymore they ll not stay long.

You're judging population by the notice board? Public groups that most people completely avoid as they are usually terrible? Even new players know from other games that pugs are something you should stay away from.

I must be seeing many bots with those flashy weapon cosmetics and pets whenever i am in town. Oh i must be a bot too right since softcore is a deserted league.
No food in fridge... Beer it is.

over a million accounts signed up. Lets be conservative and say everyone has an average of two accounts. Put's it at around 500,000. Bear in mind the RMT and multiboxers inflate that figure.

It's not important though until release. Many people refuse to play a beta. Especially in an RPG/aRPG.

everyone has 2 accounts? wut
"We believe - so we're misled, we assume - so we're played, we confide - so we're deceived, we trust - so we're betrayed"
Well in the very start of Open Beta, there were around 70k or so concurrent players, but that number has probably drastically changed since then. I would guess around there are around 10 - 15k concurrent players on weekdays, and maybe 20 - 25k that play on the weekends.

When the game officially launches, they (PoE Devs) should really look into putting this game on Steam. I'm not a Steam user, but from what I've found out, there's a HUGE steam audience and I'm pretty sure PoE's player base would pretty much sky rocket if it was listed on there.
I dont play anymore (for about 2 months now). I try and avoid games that take the virtual economy too seriously but even having said that I can acknowledge that this is a very good game indeed and I have spent more time playing it than most others.

Currently I play TQ IT (again lol) with the underlord mod. They do the loot hunt in a way that I enjoy.

Happy gaming peeps!
I think they should put a Skill reset in instead of items and quest that lets you take back your skills 1 by 1, I think that would make the game better not saying its already great. But I think this could make it better.

It would make it better for those who like to play one or two characters and max them out. It would be much worse for those who like to reroll constantly. It wouldn't make it better or worse, just different. Being able to level with a pure leveling build and then bounce around to the flavor of the month whenever you wanted is probably a bit too much.
These threads are fricking amazing...
Before the new leagues started everyone and their mother was on here starting topics about how the game was dying and no one was playing...
Anarchy and Onslaught opened and closed all those people's mouths...
Now Anarchy and Onslaught are getting to be mature leagues.
I no longer need to play 8 hours+ a day since my character is complete.
People start to either grind new characters or move to different games for a while.
They will be back when the next leagues or content roll around.
It's that simple.
Really...
