Healer Build Viability [Videos]

I just managed to get my hands on the new unique diamond ring Gifts from Above:



Been enjoying the 5% life regen aura it provides, and I'm yet to try it out with my mates cleaver, but I see potential for this being a life saver to melee characters. I have a wander with 64% chance to crit and sitting back and spamming Power Siphon covers the ground entirely with the Consecrated effect, which seems like it would provide massive support to other players.

I made a short video demonstrating the fact that my life regen increases from 30 HP/s all the way up to 170 HP/s while in Consecrated Ground.

What I am wondering is if anyone else has thought of making a Healer build?

I had a friend test out Zealots Oath with the ground effect as well and can confirm that it does provide 5% ES regen as well. I've been thinking of making an ES regen tank using Gifts, high crit chance and possibly Aegis Aurora (if I can manage to find it), but I can't decide on which skills to use.

on top of that the offensive one is in onslaught and the defensive one in anarchy really ?

This looks like an amazing idea! Can't wait to see this ring become more popular with builds. What if you used two of these rings? Do they function separate, possibly dropping two consecrated ground effects, achieving 10% life regen?

I'm not rich enough to own two, but the amount of times I placed Consecrated Ground you would think there would be overlap and I didn't see any doubling of the effect.

Yeah don't worry about this being anarchy only, they will reach standard eventually. I'm not sure if they will be put into hardcore though. Will have to wait and see.

Anyone else thinking of building a character around this ring?

If you wanted to go full support with that you could go Quill Rain/Frenzy/Faster Attacks/Inc. Crit Strikes

Possibly throw Power Charge on Crit on to that too.

Grab Conduit as well and your whole group gets 15% faster attack/cast speed.

Also, you can run Discharge to make use of the charges you're getting offensively too.

I've just started working on a Quill Rain/Frenzy/Discharge build myself. Probably going to grab Doedre's Tenure for a damage boost.

I never thought of Frenzy being a support skill before, that's really interesting I would love to see that build idea come to life.

I just had a thought, maybe I could use it with a CI, Zealots Oath Flicker striker with high crit, using Blood Rage and Power Charge on crit to get the charges. Would be untouchable as you flicker around and gain charges, while spreading 5% regen all over the place. Then explode with Discharge maybe?

Love how many ideas new uniques can add to this game, can't wait for the patch to add more.

Very nice idea for a healer build!
Does consecrated ground work with increased aoe gem and passives? Will be a good party skill if so.
Pop in a rejuvenation totem and vitality aura (multiplied by increased aoe) and we can really have a dedicated healer build :)
Melees will love you!

Anyone knows if GGG intends to evetually bring the Anarchy/Onslaught only items to Standard and Hardcore? :-(
It would be really great not being forced into playing those leagues just to get X or Y.
