In this game, every "problem" has an answer, but every solution has a cost. If you find the price too havy, deal with it. How to deal with Chaos damage ? 4 "easy" solutions :
1) HP/Regen
2) Chaos Resistance
3) Chaos Innoculation
4) A stupid OP unique item

The costs ? Usualy DPS.
Nerf chaos damage and we won't bother to counter it, and we'll just increase our DPS.

Every build in this game has a downside, and Chaos damage is the downside of low life builds.
chaos damage is in the game to make it even more of a shitfest for melee chars without raising the requirements for playing ranger/spellcaster past having hands

i didn't say, nor implied, "nerf it no matter what". or maybe i did. my point was balancing the game requires feedback.

what's your point - that the game is always balanced and nerfing, or adjustment, is never necessary ?

I was more interested in this as a design question. and the answer is it's chaos! that's the point - it's an oddball thing thrown in there as a thorn-in-the-side to builds that try to max ES over life, exactly as you pointed out. i wonder where GGG got the idea ?

And you never thought never thought about why there is a node called Chaos Innoculation .....
And you never thought never thought about why Chaos damage is way lower than Fire/Cold/Lightning Damage ........

Did you ever imagined that most of the damage are here to kill us ? And the best players can fnd a way to survive ? Did you ever imagined that they created 5 types of damage to force us to make choices and not be Gods against everything ?

And when you'll come back with feedbacks and not "NERF NERF NERF", we'll probably listen to you. until them, don't be offended to be called a noob.

There are only 2 choices. Chaos Innoculation or using % life leech on attack (aka 5-link armor)...PERIOD. Anything else is just a joke.

poe is diablo 2 copy ... why chaos lets see

diablo 2 fire dmg check poe fire dmg check
diablo 2 cold dmg check poe cold dmg check
diablo 2 lighting dmg check poe lighting dmg check
diablo 2 poison dmg check poe chaos dmg check

chaos is poison diablo version venom and other shit is poison alike too but count as chaos dmg

'Chaos' type damage in PoE is closest to 'Magic' type damage in D2.

Chaos damage is there to make it harder to get 'max resists'.

Actually I wish GGG had gone further, and made it so that bonuses to 'all elemental resistances' were rare and you mostly had to build up fire, cold and lightning resists one at a time, making 75% resist all elements an unrealistic goal for most characters. Of course, they would have to greatly reduce monster elemental damage to make it fair, but the point would be that even high-level characters would have variable resists, and not just because of cap-raisers like Purity or Saffell's Frame. Unfortunately it's too late to do this now with all the items already in circulation.
