lagwin: my understanding on that wording was that onslaught (like many users) assumed that GGG blatantly refuses to help people. I think that's where the miscommunication is.

@Drakier - for reasons that are obvious, I can not go in to detail the reasons. Let's just say things are the way they are for a reason.
@lagwin1980 - More or less. User A says "my account has been hacked! Please do something about it!". Company X says "Sorry, not our problem. For future reference, do B and C action to prevent occurences. Thank you." We, from the get-go, assume that User A is at fault for being hacked. |

" Your assumption is wrong then, GGG has investigated may claims of accounts being hacked...virtually every one of those cases it was user error...if you feel that you may have a case then you should email support which is what they ask you to do, they don't need to post in every thread that pops up as the official response is stickied. If their database was compromised like so many like to claim then there would be a damn site more "hack" posts. The current numbers are 2.5 million accounts, being generous on the amount of hacks and say 20,000 work out the percentage and lo an behold that's 1% or there abouts of accounts compromised...that does not indicate a breach. Some posters have the balls to actually say that they reused passwords or check their email trash or IP logs to find that their email was compromised some will blatantly claim the are IT super geniuses and couldn't possibly be "hacked" and refuse to see the blatantly obvious. But what else can they tell you? the account is locked as soon as someone outside your IP range tries to log in...if you get hacked then it is on your end, like it or not. the can't do character restores because of the way their system works atm but they are working on a restore function. almost every other game dose not restore items bar blizzard and their policy is entirely at their discretion...if they feel you are trying to deceive them or that giving you your items back is futile because you have done nothing to ensure your accounts safety they wont do anything.
