Gender selection.

I think adding new models and characters would be best and look most professional. Also we need a big muscular woman to be a warrior. I don't think huntress will fit the bill.
As a side note, reminds me of the explorer woman from act 3 with the armor. She could be a good model for a Duelist. Dernière édition par TwitchGLHFsport#2155, le 16 févr. 2026 à 04:39:09

To answer your question, go to GGG youtube page and watch how they are doing MTX's working. From POE1 to POE2. I believe you will have your own answer. Like i watched the whole video , too much DEV work for your questions which is waste of time atleast for the phase of the game.

" Because you're playing "a" character not "your" character. Are you also complaining that you have to play a female Lara Croft or a female Aloy? Apart from that, the amount of work to do every character model and audio twice for each class is in no way justified considering the vast majority of the players couldn't care less about what gender their toon has. |

" Hello, ty for ur answer! I understand that it could be complicated to make "new" characters but maybe just recording the same lines with a male/female voice? and then adding some kind of skin transfer. Even MTX that could fund the resources they spent. Being a role playing game (ARPG) i always wondered why i couldn't customize my character any further and i disagree with you, im not playing "A" character im playing my own name, build and even the way i look is pretty customizable so adding gender selection could further improve that customization. Maybe not NOW cause clearly there are far more important things to adress but who knows? could be a nice feature in a near/far future. Hf! Gender selection = 2x the work per character model for armour and movement rigs, 2x the audio work and 2x the MTX work

I understand the appeal of gender selection for selecting your character but you need to keep in mind it is double the skill animations, double the character models, double the voice acting, basically double everything.
Unless you want them to go hyper lazy and just use the warrior model as the male Ranger or something like that. Then your real request should be the Scion class that lets you pick your starting location and just make that one the male/female option. |

Rigging can be copied from one character model to another.
I don't think it's too far fetched to add gender selections. doing that would be nothing compared to developing the acts, maps and other content they have on the way. A lot of reworking and polishing they need to do seems like its in other areas. Dernière édition par TwitchGLHFsport#2155, le 17 févr. 2026 à 03:05:12

" As others have written in the same thread: This is not as easy as you might think it is and would require a lot of resources to pull off for very little gain. Again, most players don't care at all. " Because this is an ARPG. The main emphasis of this type of RPG is the build, not the character. " You can disagree all you want, but that's how it is. All characters you can chose from in PoE2 are pre-made. They have their fixed looks (apart from the clothes, d'oh), gender, background story and character traits and you can't change any of that. All conversations will play out exactly the same way, not even your ascendancy will make a difference here. The only thing you can chose yourself is the name and of course the equipment/stats that define how you kill all the mobs. If you really want to play a certain character, you're clearly playing the wrong game. " I wouldn't count on it considering Poe1 also never got that feature and how much GGG struggles to even get all the content into the game. We're 14 months into EA and they're still missing 1/3rd of the classes and 1/3rd of the game and endgame requires a complete overhaul. |

Wouldn't surprise me if something similar to this becomes available sometime later down the line since we already have some other MTX skins available.
However, I feel like a "true" gender-reskin would be difficult because it would also need to come with different dialogue and voice lines, and likely it's own animation-related demands, and it feels like it's something that GGG would be trespassing it's own MTX-ethos with if they were to lock it behind an MTX. Since we don't even have swords yet, I wouldn't consider this to be a priority or even on a back-burner. It's a nice idea, and that's it. And that's where it's probably going to stay for a while, if not forever. |
