[Feedback] All Roads Lead to Crit
" Try ice strike invoker. I only play SSF-HCSSF. You can also do about anything base on crit on that side of the tree, bow, spell, whatever. You def dont need uniques lol And SSF can get uniques anyway so i'm not sure what you mean with "only gear that SSF player would be likely to use". SSF player

" Are you suggesting that ice strike invoker is OP and needs to be nerfed? I'm asking because the thread is saying crit in general needs to be nerfed. I'm looking for a ssf build that would prove that crit is OP and needs to be nerfed. " They can't guarantee what uniques that get. At best they can hope to chance it. I think it perfectly fine for unique to be strong. Even OP. I don't judge how powerful a build is based on it's performance with Uniques. |

" Surely not, dont nerf my monastry please =) I said, what was funny, is that you say crit isnt viable without uniques. And that's not correct. My ice strike guy doesnt have any uniques crit related. Crit is defenitly viable. About the post topic i even said i dont agree. I dont believe crit is OP. I dont believe it's bad either as you say. It's actualy prob in a good spot imo. There is CoC comet, i agree, but nerfing crit nodes everywhere on the tree sound innapropriate. Let's be honnest in general i think we're good with nerf and we could pass for next season so they check at what need buffs =) SSF player

" Fair enough. Bad is an exaggeration. I should have said "Cast on critical" is bad (without uniques). |

" IDK what your talking about I'm playing an oracle build using all rare equipment besides a unique focus that scales spell damage with spirit, 13% more spell damage per 10 spirit, I have 227 spirit from a rare amulet. I use grand regalia with +14 spirit for each socketed gem, yes thats a unique not a rare, but guess what Prior to using grand regalia, I used a rare piece of armour that gave +56 spirit, I chose to use grand regalia because it gave me the chance to get some extra defence stats, Without grand regalia I still have no issue surviving with that rare piece of armour, Grand regalia is not needed I use Living bomb + Ice nova in CoC as I use elemental invocation with Tornado. With CoC I use Ice nova+Frost nexus to freeze enemies rapidly and create chilled ground, Living bomb to always have fire infusions And I use a rare wand, a dueling wand for spell sligner, And use comet in spell slinger, My main damage spells are Entangle+Thrashing vines along with Thunderstorm All gear I require for this build is guess what, Rare, I can run through maps while simultaneously demoloshing everything in my path with THUNDERSTORM, Not relying on CoC + Spell slinger untill boss fights, Where I spam plant spells + Thunderstorm to build up energy for spell slinger I have chosen nodes that give me increased meta energy gain, along with a chance to refund half energy, + Boundless energy 2 slotted in spellslinger to proc Comet faster Not relying on CoC to do DPS, Rely on it to do "Extra" dps and to Freeze the boss, Elemental invocation procs tornado, and I use freezing mark for shocked ground once enemies are frozen, followed by Enfeeble for burning ground and tornado sucks up all the surfaces, I use a combination of 2 Invocations Elemental Invocation and Spell slinger + 1 Trigger being CoC I can kill a boss with 4mil hp without a struggle, Just spam and play defense Can do T4 pinnacles just need to stay on guard, in no way does this insta them, But it does more then enough damage, No where near a Bloodmage as that is truly a broken class in its current state No gear I need to use is out of the ordinary, I choose to use rakiatas flow on comet for extra damage for late endgame farming, But I've also chosen the Dimensional Weakspot node thatb has a 15% chance to do exactly what Rakiatas flow does, So rakiatas is not needed, I use it to gurantee comet a 100% chance vs a 15%, but it still does massive damage without rakiatas and when it hits that 15% roll Will gladly make a mobalytics for you just say the word, started working on one but got burnt out |

" I see the problem now, you're debating from the viewpoint of the self-flagellating SSFers who deliberately want a more challenging(frustrating) game experience. I can respect that and have my occasional SSF playthroughs too. But I don't think general game balance, passives, items, or anything should be tuned around SSF gameplay. SSf needs a Circle of Fortune from LE type overhaul. That said, for endgame attack skill builds you can take any crit build and sub in a few of the supports that add ~20% dps in place of Garukhan's and Rakiata's, and you'll still do fine. You'll only kill things 5 times over instead of 10-20 times over, and bosses will take 5-10 seconds instead of two. And for the vast majority of builds you will still be way more effective overall by trying to scale crit chance and damage rather than going any other route. Therefore, GGG please buff other builds/mechanics, and rebalance the few items/skills that crit builds utilize to make the game go from trivial to utterly broken. This is so true

" My argument has been that in "general" crit is not OP enough to deserve a nerf. That it's specific items that are OP. Classes like oracle, which have strong crit passives, feel OP because specific items are powerful. Or are you suggesting that your oracle build is busted and needs to be nerfed? |
|
" I play in SC trade exclusively. However each mode can give you a lot of insight on why a build is good or not. SSF tells you if a build needs specific items to exist or if it's just generally powerful. HC tells you if a build has enough defense for a reasonable person to survive. I would look at performance on all game mode before deciding if something needs to be nerfed. |

" SSF is fine and dont need nothing, it's made for people who like grinding. If you think it's "self flagellating" and "frustrating" you're not ready for it. SSF player
