In this league 1. T16 we don't go at all. We sell them because they cost a div. 2. T15 6-10 properties is a 50/50 lottery, whether you pass or not. Besides, the rewards aren't worth it. We only go to tickle our nerves. 3. What remains? T15 4 properties... Boring.

" There's a lot of people who just want to blast a map I think, but it is the case that "The best challenge" which the game is presenting here is to complete tough maps without dying. Advocates for more portals would prefer that it meant completing a tough map through attrition - so they wish to alter the challenge. Because this whole thing is only an issue for People attempting and failing maps - so by definition, people who are unable to "beat the best challenge". They are advocating to reduce what constitutes "the best challenge" because for whatever reasons, they don't want to deal with that level of challenge. Some people want to be challenged, other people want to blast. That's it. |

If the 0.4.0 interview is anything to go by, this is all working as intended. Jon has said outright, in response to a question regarding people thinking endgame death is too punishing, that you should run maps with less mods or waystones at lower tiers until you're strong enough.
I think people are trying to brute force their way through the game like they could in PoE1 and it's not working. Building glass cannon has a lot more consequences and it doesn't even involve unfair 1shots and offscreens. You guys need to invest a lot more heavily into defenses. Whatever armor you have, you need to multiply it by 5x-10x+ minimum. ES, you need 8k+ minimum. I don't know how much you need for evasion, but I don't trust "percent chance to take 100% damage" defenses without layering something else on it. This will hurt your damage and clear speed, but it will massively improve your odds of completing 6mod T15 maps. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

The design is just bed because it makes the player pick between two bad options:
1. "Easier map" and the feeling of wasting one's time; or 2. Juiced map with the risk of death and steep penalty. At one point, enthusiasm and novelty wear off and the design becomes unpleasant or outright unbearable. In my opinion, GGG should have one season with no trade whatsoever. With the band aid removed, all problems will become obvious even to them. |
