Im here again to say that End Game Mapping is too punishing.
Death in a 6 mod map =
1. Los of XP
2. Loss of waystone/ portal
3. Loss of the ability to use tablets the next time you try.
3. Loss of ability to travel to Citadels after death.
I can get losing a portal and XP like PoE 1. The rest seems intentionally mean spirited. Why cant we re-attempt the Citadels or Other bosses like Tavaki/ Manoki. I really like the game, love it even. 7k hours in PoE1 and 1.5k in PoE2. The 1 portal/ 1 try thing is just such a punishing/ unfun choice. In my opinion..

Brother, i'm talking to you in a perspective of a non casual player.
What you really want?
You should understand more than anyone else that this is not for casual players.
No ones forces you to do a 1 portal map, NO ONE! If you think that you're character can't handle it, just do the cittadels with 2 portals, it's easy..
And the other maps with 1 portal, depends on you and you're investment.
This is a good mechanics, more real, more fun! Depends on the perspective.
And i want to tell you another thing, they let you do the map again, just without the tablets so you can continue you're grinding through the atlas.

If in the endgame, the only resource the player has to continue playing are the maps, why punish the player with 1 portal map?
Why change the map mechanism from PoE1? 1 portal per map is the most nonsensical idea these devs have ever created. I personally have no problem completing a map with 1 portal, but the idea itself is wrong.
The game excessively punishes the player left and right; there isn't an aspect of this game that doesn't have a penalty.
PoE2 is a failure.

Bro i'm doing double corrupted 10 mod T15's with 3 juicy tablets and they still drop nothing but 2 waystones.
And you actually suggest people to do 4 mod maps with 2 extra portals?
The design is bad, 3 tablets are a must, especialy for citadels where you can guarantee 2 fragment drops with all 3 tablets.
I lost 12 citadels so far with their 1 portal bullcrap, i get 1 shot with 10k ES from random boss projectiles, butt lasers, electric fences that still persist when boss talks and you can only slow walk.
Game is too buggy for 1 portal and early access defences are a joke.

Make a build that can handle it or run less mods.
If you are getting one shot then you arent paying attention to your builds weaknesses, or the mods on the waystones.
Risk/Reward.
POE1 is there if you want a less forgiving system. They dont need to remove portal limits.
