I feel more people should see this
" That's how basketball and hockey work. Do you refuse to lift weights because pro strongmen can lift more than you? Both PoE's are semi-competitive. Even though it's almost pointless, I can see on ninja that I have the #3 Gemling Legionnaire right now. Knowing that isn't completely pointless, because it convinced me to start a new character, since I'm not willing (maybe not able, I'll never know) to do the work required to get it to #2 or #1. Same deal with pickup basketball or online chess. People enjoy playing at their own level. Most people will be nowhere close to professional skill. They can still have fun. 0.4 SSF: Gemling Minions: https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/DistributedAutomaton-5739/character/CrystalController

" You missed the point entirely and added some terrible examples to demonstrate how badly you missed the point. To simplify even more...it boils down to which group of people are spending more money to support the game. Only GGG will have that data to decide the ultimate direction. P.S. Nobody cares what rank you have on poe ninja. |

" Who would have thought? ...hah) That's the reason why Chris left and now builds his own arpg he always wanted to build -) |

" Some data is public. PoE2 makes more on cosmetics than D4 does, for example, even though D4 makes more money overall because of game sales. (Another way to put it is that PoE2 makes more revenue per user, while D4 has many more users.) Financially, making and keeping games hard has historically been profitable for GGG, and all of PoE2's early access dev costs are already paid for. And you appear to care about your own rank on PoE ninja, comparing yourself to the power of other players' characters. I'm telling you not to. I'm literally retiring a character that is "powerful" because a weak character is more fun. 0.4 SSF: Gemling Minions: https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/DistributedAutomaton-5739/character/CrystalController

" I've never compared myself to other players power. You are the one bringing up your poe ninja rank and posting it in your signature. Which again nobody cares about. I only described how different Poe 2 is from chess in relation to that YouTube vid. You see the game from only 1 perspective. I'm able to see it from many perspectives. |

I only watch the first 6 minutes, but I'm going to disagree. I never play meta builds, I would prefer to play SSF. However the game is balanced around trade. Without trade, gear acquisition is incredibly tedious. I know because I played SSF until they introduced async trade.
This league I'm still not playing meta. I'm playing Primal Strike, LS pathfinder. Nothing about my setup is competing with meta builds. BUT all elemental builds need Rakiata's Flow to scale. The very nature of random means some people will have bad streaks. The bad streaks in this game are awful, tedious and not enjoyable. You can choose to believe me or not. |

If the arguments aren't going to be detailed in text, then naw.
Ain't no one got time for someone trying to farm engagement on youtube. |

" Indeed!!!!!!!!! |

" The trick to overcoming bad RNG in ssf is to have more than one ssf build on the go at a time. I usually do two. That way the gear you drop is more likely to be good for at least one of your characters. And if you get bored on one (sick of grinding for boots while having shitty boots) you can go grind for the boots on the other character lol. Maybe it's not boots, just insert whatever rare rune/lineage support/unique/specific affixes you need - it still works! But if you have more fun in trade league that's fine too. Just thought I'd share a bad-RNG strategy I've used to some success. |
