XP loss should only be for the XP gained in that map

This is an "outgear" kinda game, can't outplay ground puddles.

People have beaten Arbiter of Ash naked. No gear required, just skill.

I really wish people would stop promoting this BS. Hollow Palm is meant to be a weapon.
Just improove you're charachter... Why complaining?

If, you're characther can't handle harder content, it's you're issue, not the game/developers.

I keep repeating my self, this is not diablo or a standard A-RPG game..

Can a casual player have a blast of fun? Yes.

Can a casual player reach the real endgame? No.

Take you're time to understand the mechanics, crafting and other things that this wonderful game has to offer.. Don't rush

For a casual player i always recommend to start a STANDARD charachter, not a league.. But if you want to do the league, don't complain with no sense. Just have fun, and take you're time!!!
+1:

RIP SSF casuals I guess.
Level 98 is easy to get, its after that this is really an issue.

I dont disagree or agree but it would need to have a punishment in return if there is a change, e.g blocking the map like 0.1 or even closing a section of maps and making you restart the atlas etc etc punishment to fit the crime i guess. Losing map exp is not enough in my opinion.

Your char is complete at level 96, Jon mentioned in interview he doesnt know why players need to go past level 96.

I personally feel my chars are not really complete until level 100 maybe one day when they adjust the exp like POE 1.

Level 97 using omen its only 3 maps to get the exp back, but this is also debatable i run full juice on t15 t16 maps so obviously different.

My first level 99 it took a lot of learning to get there.

Any players looking to push through, your weapon is the most important and save for that (difference between a T2 and T1 can be double damage), boss levels are useless since map boss drops suck anyway just useful to get waystones so put them at 0 and turn them into a yellow mob.

Dont worry about the deaths and loss of exp (yes annoying) but its the drops that matter to save for the weapon, once you have that you will melt everything and can move onto next piece.

Be careful of the mods on waystones some act like hidden mechanics and can turn it into a hell map.

Just like D4 paragon points and gylphs make your build, here its the weapon modifiers and gear.

This is why if you look at poe ninja and see same build as yours and double your power. Small changes can cause huge results.

E.g. i have 2 helmets same exact ES and mods identical, but 1 has accuracy from currpution, i now have an extra 6k damage, this is because the system see's the accuracy as an increase due to hitting rate.

I see esteemed forum staff only remembers about the Code Of Conduct when it suits them, like when deleting my posts:)

Talking about someone's "mental capability" in front of such wild dps disparity and loot disparity is hypocrisy. With respect, the breakthrough you mean boils down to "stop using skills GGG had nerfed for some reason and start using skills GGG had not nerfed for some reason". Great mental improvement, now you're totally worthy of reaching level 100.

Same here, my first response to the first comment was insta deleted, think I did say Br**n D**d though xD or something similar

But yep question my mental capability in regards to levelling up
"oh well your just too stupid"
Every issue seems to come down to "Oh just get good your too stupid"

Doesn't feel good posting on these forums, expressing feedback in the literal feedback section to have the same people reply to every post absolutely shitting on the poster, gas lighting them to death, saying their the issue while blatantly looking past the major flaws and cracks

Says alot about who they are as people, then again they live in this game, so its all they need to worry about, not others opinons or thoughts, only theirs, Then mods picking and choosing what comments to leave and what to remove to fit this narrative?

Community is divided, continue to get more divided each day, GGG, you guys need to meet in the middle, the formula you guys have, is very good, has some major underlying flaws, when every idea is immediatley shutdown and people start attacking the poster? you guys really need to step in...

Dont bother mate, i dont normally reply to replies no point, just drop your knowledge and opinion and if GGG care they care if not doesnt matter in the end.

I will reply to a thread and never re open the thread again.

But dont let anything stop you posting, your opinion or knowledge could actually help someone in need.

Just drop your load and move on to the next.

Have a great afternoon Exile.

The thing is, levels past 90+ still give passive points, so it's not just a "look at me, I'm 100" vanity project.

If it was purely a flex, then sure - stop giving passive points after 95 and call it a day. Then I genuinely wouldn't care. But right now those last points are literally part of finishing a build.

In my case it's not some tiny rounding error either. The last few points are either about +15% minion DPS (which is massive) or roughly +1.5k Energy Shield. That's not "fake progress", that's a real power spike. I already sacrificed minion damage to grab the extra ES just to survive, and now I'm grinding those last levels so I can actually complete the build and pick up the +15% minion DPS too.

So when people say "your character is complete at 96" or "just stop leveling", it's like telling someone their car is done while the wheels are still in the trunk.

On one hand, GGG did manage to attract the worst "git gut" crowd who will come and shit on people who complain about difficulty. It is a given and happens in literally every game which is considered somewhat skillful. Hence why the same crowd relentlessly shits on PoE 1, even though the majority of them have either never played it or never reached its endgame.

That being said, XP loss has been a hot topic for probably more than a decade and GGG haven't removed it, so no, you won't do a darn thing complaining about it - it stays. And me personally, I am happy it stays.

Those last few passive points have very little impact for basically all builds, gear is what matters most at that stage.
