Monkey nerf is bad
" This is why the monkey was nerfed. The old monkey made sense when you could skip it. But now that it's mandatory on all relevant maps and even interlude, they must now be doable by pretty much everyone. 0.3.1 was a disaster for the design of PoE2. |

We can't have mechanics killing people in 2025 gaming. Is a casual slop the vision now?

" Except the dev in question specifically said they DID lower the damage, and all user testing has show that they DID lower the damage, and POE2DB shows that they nerfed the damage signifigantly. Quoted from reddit: Base damage got nerfed from 530% to 463% And they removed the +400% damage when the pillar centred on you and just replaced it with +150% damage. Pretty big nerf |

" I think the mistake was making the monkey the regular Vaal Ruins rare. They could have chosen almost any other boss to reskin and it would have been less of an issue. Re: your 0.3.1 comment: my hope is that goals become more diverse once the endgame is available. Evasion-only melee character that can kill Ubers with cheap gear (SSF Rise of the Abyssal), no armor, no energy shield, 62k eHP:

Act 3 Silverfist was good. Random copies of it in maps (Vaal Sergeant, Lightning monkey in maps and random Silverfist copies in summoning circle, that can one-shot player before loaded on screen) - not at all, terrible idea to put super-one-shot-boss into random spawn points without any cover to use.
The issue with monkey boss on maps - lack of covers we have in Act 3, boss was balanced by arena, without arena - it's simply random killer to destroy HC character and players progression. Not fun... I am happy they nerfed it, at least properly defended characters can survive initial hit. Dernière édition par Nocturnal#3111, le 19 déc. 2025 à 20:08:15

" Yep, he cant see a one little HC character :D Btw, i agree monkey shouldn't be random event boss. If you know its monkey = its ok " Its was doable, just roll on heavy attack, sideways... |

If anything, it should have started w/ strongly reducing his crit chance and crit dmg. Leaving the rest as it was. See how that feels for a week or two and then make any final adjustments after that. (though a bit of hitbox adjustment wouldn't be too bad either.)
Don't get lost by being so focused on the target that you forget to enjoy your surroundings. Dernière édition par freudo#0225, le 19 déc. 2025 à 20:55:36
