Most of the people that like the patch are casuals who dont even juice. This game is now a participation trophy except without the trophy.

" Do you have a link for me to confirm that stated intention? PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

" https://youtu.be/tmuy9fyNUjY?si=cBPpxoraH7ZmjHoA Old talk about PoE1, still relevant because they're clearly following the same pattern with PoE2 and have never stated or implied different in either game. He talks about it in there somewhere but too lazy to timestamp. I've also heard in mentioned in other interviews I've watched over the years but finding it in any of those many interviews wild be way too time consuming. |

" Huh, I remember watching that a long time ago. Didn't expect to be linked to that. I'm honestly unsure how relevant that is anymore, if I'm being honest. Chris Wilson made this statement and he's pretty much stepped down from GGG. I mean hell, he made the old trade manifesto a decade ago and now we have asynchronous trade which runs counter to it. A lot can change in a few years, design philosophy included. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

They have said as much in pre launch interviews more recent for POE2 after chris' departure.
They are completely comfortable with people playing other games after awhile. They dont expect you to play forever, or even plan for it. The POE2 discord even has their own staff talk about this as well. How they have a backlog of games now to play. Mash the clean

" No, the towers are not gone. They simply swapped impacting area by tablets to impacting each map separately. This gives flexibility for each map but removes benefits of overlapping. But the whole system is still the same, I think people wanting to remove towers wanted to have the whole system reworked. What we got is a duck tape fix. Cheapest solution possible, just to say "we removed towers" |

" Sure but I directly mentioned those points you made. It is still relevant because they're still following that pattern. Do you have any evidence that the design philosophy has in fact changed? I'm not arguing it can't change by any means, just pointing it that the evidence I can see makes this still relevant today in this game as well as PoE1. They have adjusted their views on trade, but they also talked about it quote a lot along the path. They've never once mentioned a desire for people to play every single day of every league to my knowledge. |

" did you.... read any patch notes or play the game in the last 2 leagues? the evidence is pretty clear. |

" There is functionally no reason to path to any towers and you can freely ignore them as you please.Towers didnt get removed ,their function did which is what people were bitching about for the last month. The system is still getting reworked! They said 0.4 will be the endgame rework, this IS a duct tape fix because SO MANY people were bitching about it and GGG isnt going to drop a full endgame redesign midleague. That makes 0 sense |
