Removal of rare icons

I really hope nobody from GGG actually reads this. It must be maddening.

The fact people are advocating that staring at minimap icons somehow translates to good game design is just baffling.


You should understand that those are different groups of people... It just shows that you never can please everyone, each change will shut up one group and irritate another one - so the complaints never end, it's just a different group complaining. All a dev can (and should) do is make a game that he or she likes playing.

Personally I don't like the removal of rare markers, because of how it changed the Azmeri Spirits. They're way too troublesome now, requiring running around in circles without attacking to see if by any chance there's a rare nerby that might get 1-shot. And without the markers you can't tell how long the walk with the spirit will be.

And I agree with comments above suggesting a double objective for map completion - either kill all rares or kill the boss. Such a simple solution. And maybe a bonus if you do both :)
