These two things are not connected. Maps are infinite. Tablets are infinite.


people doing that will get 2 towers because it's literally not worth getting 3... you can make the content 100% chance with 2. so it's not optimizing side content, it's just getting a chance for something else as well.

running the right maps, it's the same thing as optimizing the side content. the map modifiers affect all the content you are doing that is not specifically items in the ritual. if you are doing anything at all apart from the mechanics, it's still better to run 6 mod.

we are not talking about the discrepancy between "less optimized builds" and a way to close the gap here, we are talking about you guys getting one more life on worse maps to run them with 1 more precursor, and thinking it is better than just bricking a map every now and then (it isn't). you have a chance to die, you are guaranteed to lose on every map if you are not slamming them up while grinding for items.

I don't want to play 1 portal maps, either. Previous to this patch, I used to run towers at 6 mods to use 3 tablets, and then only ran 6 mod maps for things like maps cleansed with +1 level. Now you are forced to run 6 mods on every map to be able to use 3 tablets, otherwise you have much less juice than prior to the patch (I think there is still less even with 3 because quant mods seem very low).

I don't really die much at all in maps, but it happens sometimes. And it's just a major feels bad losing a map. I usually run high delirious maps with 5 mods just to have that "in case", but now there is a reminder upon loading up every map that I'm playing wrong if I don't do 6 mods/1 portal, with a penalty.

I like to grind maps in PoE 1 while watching/listening to something on another monitor, but in PoE 2 I feel like I'm forced to play like it's hardcore and be hyper focused on not dying all the time.

Like why not just give bonuses to loot dropped on the map boss / final rare kill scaling with remaining portals instead of the current system that punishes you for looking away from your monitor for 2 seconds or because of lack of visual clarity.

Like come on guys. Words do still mean things. You may be excited to run 6 mod maps consistently but if you're not ready for that yet then you're in luck because even running 2 tablets per node is better than you were doing before.

That's not what I meant, and 2 tablets aren't better than 3 tower setups. 9 7% quant tablets > 3 10% quant tablets.

100% agree. This forcing feels wrong. I played exactly the same as you. I now don't have the urge to run maps at all. Something went terribly wrong here.

Half of this community thinks they deserve to kill the hardest enemies with the most reward possible regardless of whether or not they have the gear or individual skill to actually do it.
This patch is not good. I was having a nice time with how the map layout was. Bosses got buffed by 5x too ? I liked having mix of kill boss or hunt rares.

It's more about constantly wasting the players time and punishing them. Even the best builds with the best gear will die sometimes and as a Solo player in particular it feels awful. You're already at a massive disadvantage due to how ridiculous party scaling is and not everyone wants to (or is able to) run content as a group.

GGG basically took the only advantage of solo players (being able to use 6 portals on your maps) away. It's fucking stupid.

Sorry but as a HCSSF player you'll never be able to convince me that having no penalty for dying is a good thing. Actions should have consequences, even on softcore there should be a reason to not want to die. You don't even lose juiced tower nodes anymore.. that was the only single time wasting mechanic and now it's gone. Just load another map?
