Experience Loss in Endgame Maps
First off, I am not a noob, I am a seasonsed RPG player. XP loss is not part of the design philosophy of ANY OTHER RPG besides Lineage/ FF11 and PoE 2 (ragnarok online is trash), at least any notable game. It doesnt make it challenging, the content can still be hard and you not lose XP. Some builds can beat Arbiter and T16s at significantly lower levels than other builds. Hell some builds couldnt beat Arbiter at 100, so the point of challenge is null, someone else had mentioned that. Now to get to your point, Surviving a hit can be done NOT at 100, again, some builds are better than others. But surviving lack of design is another topic all together. Abyss mobs can kill you in a blink, to degen you dont even see because your build cant allow it. EVEN IF your build could keep it clear, there is ZERO REACTION TIME to the MASSIVE GROUND DEGENs. That isnt fun, not well thought out, building for survival doesnt help when even the top players complain about it. Letting me achieve 100 at a more than casual pace isnt blasphemous. It still takes FOREVER even without xp loss. All of this elitist talk about it needing to be in the game is absurd. No one enjoys loss of progression, I can already brick areas of my atlas, that is punishment enough, but when im perpetually stuck at a level, and I want to see my build through to the end, but can't because I keep getting reset to zero xp, that is a fucking issue. All this does is promote XP leech groups, and at that point, I am no longer playing the game. You are wrong if you think loss of progression is a good time, you just want to gatekeep players who want to explore off meta builds. Here I am playing the game the way the devs intended, slower and more methodic with essentially combo builds, and yet I am being punished for it. Allow me to be stricken from leaderboards, just give me no XP loss. I dont play this game as a sense of self worth or achievement, I play it to relax and enjoy my time. XP loss isnt fun, this game is fun, but this endgame loss of progression isnt.

If ggg reduces xp loss on death, every player will reach level 100 very fast and nobody will play the game anymore. The game will die very fast. Only the best and top players at the top of the pyramid should achieve level 100.[/quote] Uhh bro the game already dies off fast. Most leagues are a week 2 weeks then the majority of the player base is gone. If they would let more ppl experiment and have options it will increase the longevity of the game bc playera will actually be able to engage with more things so will spend more time to try the things they want |

It really exists so softcore players have to put at least a few points in defense.
In a few patches they'll have nerfed everything so much that even that isn't necessary, so just hang in there bud. You'll be able to fail upwards soon. |

" "No one enjoys loss of progression" We dont enjoy losing progression, but we enjoy the fact that its there and if we overcome the challenge instead of complaining about it, it feels fun. You might as well say something like "nobody enjoys dying, so please nerf bosses so you dont die." thats how challenge works. Getting to 100 is fun because not many people can. Its a challenge, something to strive for. Dernière édition par OniJihn#0420, le 28 sept. 2025 à 09:36:27

Based on your statement, and others in this post, everyone CAN get to 100, they just need to play meta screen clear builds, so again, remind me of what the achievement is?

Again, to further put my point across, to even achieve these meta screen clear builds you need to have the most possible currency to purchase these over-priced items or crafting items that have drop rates no one can fathom, unless of course you do t16s and endgame bosses which require meta buil... oh wait. Point proven, So if all this doesnt matter, and endgame bosses and maps only need survivability, explain to me why the market is like it is now? Explain why meta builds and currencies are so rare? You cant, XP loss is the least of anyone's worries, so dying on this terribly small hill shouldnt be a priority of anyone here. Bricking of atlas sectors, not being able to kill endgame bosses, maps closing, that is enough kicking me while im down, at least let me see my build through in game and not on a third party sim sight.

" Getting to 100 means nothing if I didnt achieve it my way, with my build. Go ahead and link me your original build that achieved 100, I know you dont have one. |

" Last time i got to 100 in poe 1, it was on a character that I made the build myself. Im the type of person to not look at any guides and when youtube even recommends me any poe content I black list the channel. I didnt use any 3rd party tools either. you're arguing on the basis of "you need to play meta to get to 100" which is wrong. Just get better at the game, and you will get 100. " I love this talk of "ONLY THE BEST OF THE BEST SHOULD BE ABLE TO REACH 100".... meanwhile the builds look like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcyU2kt1N7M You have to be SO GOOD to play that... DANG... the SKILL REQUIREMENT IS OFF THE CHARTS WOOOOO 😂🤣🤣 I have news for you buddy, most people quit long before they even encounter exp loss as an issue. Game already dies fast because of many other reasons. And exp loss is just an extra nothing-burger penalty that annoys most people. "Sigh"
