Major Endgame Changes in Patch 0.3.1 for Path of Exile 2

I really liked the old tower system. I thought It added some kind of puzzle minigame to mapping. It added an interesting layer of logistic planning to the game. Pretty sad to see this gone, I struggle to believe a majority of players did not like it.


Many vocal parrots complained about it.
so i played the 0.3.1 patch now for a few hours.
And i dont like the changes.
the atlas now feels empty. the towers feel useless (i did like them before).
the rares are down graded to just a nother mob. (before they had a use, and you would find them due to the minimap icon. now they are hidden. i miss the "quest" of killing them all. i dont think that needed to go too. bring it back, please.

the bosses are chore and not something you plan and anticipate to do. having them in every map lovwers their value too.
there should be something different than killing the boss or rares to finish the map. like a mini quest. (i.e. find something, free some villager, bring back some cettle for someone; i mean we are saving the world of the corruption so we can do that for someone) that would make it more exiting and upgrade the bosses again because they are optional again.
please make a quest marker for the mechanics for the random encounters too like there was before, so every mechanic in the map has an icon on the side of the screen under the modifierers.
please give the towers some meaning. they are a good idea.

I think the idea behind the end game changes are solid but I also think the execution is on the border of meh and poor. Many other people have already pointed out that being forced to do 6 mod maps to get the “same ish “ type of juice and you could run however many portals you needed for your build at that time. I use “same ish” type juice and that’s overstating it. On a 3 tower setup I could run for example 45 reduced reroll, 75 percent omen and 1 additional reroll and twice as many reroll with a grand precursor to level up the map…..and that was a solid 3 tower for me and when those rare occasions you found 4 towers that overlapped even maps you could have some fun.

Now I get to pick 3 things the best I can do is what 70 percent omen,40 percent reroll and reroll tablet….oh wait no I can’t run that cause I still have to level up the map…..people may not be complaining much now because I’m sure they are like me and going back to all their old rolled towers to get a little extra juice (which that part was a solid way to roll it out)

But over all I like the concept but end game got nerfed MASSSIVE……people just don’t realize it yet.

My suggestion that might work is to re-enable being able to tablets in towers but limit it to 1 tablet and the rest can go in the maps. That might be a good solution.


Believe me, they just wanted to nerf the loot from mapping, but they suddenly had a good idea to take advantage of players' compliant at same time.

Just like tons of "good adjustment, balance, optimization" they've done before. They claimed every change a buff, but more than half of these changes made players feel worse.
So basically if you not running meta build which one shots boss combo of modifiers:
+increased life monster Like40%
+increased critical stike chance like 289%
+increased critical damage bonuse like 30%

and additionally some gain damage as (element) here.. and roll some weird shit boss like barja chick or Vaal "the battery" boss you have fu***ed..

Why nerf drop rate now the game sucks. No one wants to run 100 maps for nothing. Wonder why your player base keeps is getting so low. Great job guys keep it up.
pls remove the abyssal from map bosses.
