I bet you can't provide any evidence for that claim.
I can only speak for myself, but 0.1.x's difficulty balancing is what partially compelled me to write a thread why I don't think I'll see myself playing it for the long-term. In particular, summoner builds feel extremely lackluster and weak. Minions die instantly to Count Geonor and I had to switch to ED just to get past him, they barely held their own against Jamanra, and fighting Doryani felt incredibly sluggish.
It felt bad enough that I completely skipped 0.2.x, thinking it didn't get better.
I came back in 0.3.0, because of asynchronous trade, and now it started to feel better. Summoning still feels stripped down and nonsensical compared to PoE 1 (I still can't wrap my head around temporary summons requiring corpses, making them worthless against bosses), but I no longer feel like I'm hitting a brick wall against the act bosses.
I hadn't played poe1 for 8 years and started poe2 0.1 with a witch. Defeated Geonor first try and didn't even know he was the Boss for the first act. I had no idea how this game works and my built was complete poo.
The reason most people leave is not because it's too hard, but because it's poorly explained. And that's where 0.1 didn't shine.
And nobody cares about EA-numbers. It's EA. If they can't retain the playerbase after launch, that's a bigger problem.

There's a limit to how difficult the campaign bosses can be before we lose too many players. Casuals and new players who don't know how to set up their skills for dps often hit a brick wall at bosses and quit the game.
Every game isn't supposed to be for everyone and that's ok.
Why does every game need to be mass appeal slop with yellow paint?

Minions have no place in this game as a physical body that can tank and take damage They should be command skills only and basically FF7 summons.

In a zoom game you can play slow. In a slow game you cant zoom. So that is the basis of the argument from those who want to zoom. Its the same thing but people tend to forget the let them play like they want to response when it comes to that.
please tell me how to play slow in breach, or even in dreadnought act2. if they balanced the game around slow play but allowed broken interactions to zoom then you will have your case, it would even feel better to zoom in that game because it would feel like you are clever- rn the game holds your hand and shows you how to be OP
Play on the edges and parry to victory. Isolate individual packs on the outside. Removing the time limit from breach would enable this. Having it a fixed expand rate and distance no matter how fast you kill.
Dreadnaught, move in enough to get the jumpers and then back up. Fight them slow and isolated. Then move in and pull the remaining pack repeat.
"if they balanced the game around slow play but allowed broken interactions to zoom then you will have your case"
And in that scenario you don't see that being nerfed because as you described it, it is a broken interaction? They "fix" those as unintended. So no, you cant zoom in a slow game but you can play slow in a zoom game.

ok i need to see the 'breach parry to victory' play on a vid. this claim is so far from reality that i'm not even going to address the rest of your post because i suspect your not trying to have an honest conversation here. but please prove me wrong on this

Obviously the parry to victory was troll but you can flirt around the outside somewhat. That being said you ignored the real response and took longer to type the response than it took to read what I wrote.
That being said, dont people say it all the time around here that not all builds are good at all parts of the game? Like rolling slam build. Very very strong for single target. God speed if you want to clear a map with it. Or when minions builds just couldnt do anything in simu or stuff like that.
The dreadnaught part is 100% possible because I have done it on warrior when I was a little under leveled when I got there and had to slow play each pack.
And if you want slow methodical meaningful combat shouldnt your issue be with breach, ritual, abyss, simu, etc itself? Since these are all swarm style events? It has no effect on you if you dont make the choice to do these events which I know is not going to be enjoyable because of the crafting mats and stuff everyone wants. But thats the same thing the zoomers are trying to get slow enjoyers to understand. Its miserable to them ALL the time. Not just the events.
Personally I want a game where you can zoom maps but bosses take focus and you have to do the mechanics and not one shot them. Also in the same breath they should NOT be one shotting players either.
VERY SIMPLE NUMBERS EXAMPLE HERE.....
Players does 500 dps. White mobs have 300 HP, Blues 500 HP, Yellows 2000 HP. So you can mow down the whites and blues but have to hit yellows a few times to dodge their attack or whatever in between but none of this yellows tankier than bosses crap. Then you get to the boss and they have like 20,000 HP so you have to do some mechanics and a good build can kill it in 30ish seconds or whatever. That sounds fun to me. God tier glass cannon builds can kill it in 10 seconds or whatever but can be one shot since glass cannon. Then a medium damage/medium tanky build kills it in like 30-40 seconds but can only be one shot by the obvious telegraphed stuff that is easy to avoid if you are paying attention. Then the super tanky builds but lower damage take a minute or so to kill it but can damn near tank it all but the designed one shot moment for that boss like arbiter circle dance or whatever.
That is an extremely rough draft of ideas of how I would like to see it balanced.

As long as the Bosses one shotting players before players one shotting them no reason to fight over 2mins. Just look around even with capped defences bosses are one shotting players. So there is no point. POE rule still continues , you one shot it or get one shotted.

I'm sad to say until I see at least some acknowledgment of the issues from GGG, I won't be giving them any more money. If they want to turn the game into a meme it's their prerogative but I won't be a part of it.

Have you tried avoiding their obvious telegraphed attacks?
