Don't turn this game into Path of Exile 1
PoE2 was supposed to be an expansion to PoE1.
so i can only chuckle a bit at the title, i totally get it because after they broke their promse on expanding the game they gave the excuse it was for "this xyz reason" but now that we're here and it's not slowed down much it makes you wonder what the point was. I like both games but ouch. Innocence forgives you Dernière édition par SilentSymphony#3358, le 25 sept. 2025 à 17:21:48

" Are you serious here? 350k players at the same time is a lot. Battlefield 6 in open beta had 500k and that was really succesful for them. Thats concurrent palyers not unique palyers. Also POE1 has a lot of concurrent players. Its in the top 30 games in the world. At this moment and the league start was months ago. Right now POE2 has the top rank in mmo. According to MMO-population. The site isnt particularly accurate if a game isnt on steam tho. its a lot of guessing POE isnt niche. Its basically one of the most played MMOs in existence Dernière édition par Alzucard#2422, le 25 sept. 2025 à 21:33:26

Yes it is quite alarming the direction it is going but hopefully GGG stays the course and keeps this separate.
To the people who are going to pile on and say all sorts of nonsense...numbers don't lie. Both games are live and available to play and yet POE 2 puts up insane numbers compared to POE 1. People want this type of gameplay |

" To add onto this: PoE2 had over twice the peak player count than PoE1 ever had in its over a decade long lifespan. Even now it maintains over 12x concurrent players. Clearly lots of people want what this game offers that PoE1 simply lacks. And I'm speaking as an avid PoE1 veteran who's been around since 2012, it's a little sad to see that PoE1 never caught on this much compared to PoE2. However, I have to acknowledge the facts for what they are, that people by and large find PoE2 a more enjoyable experience. To call it a niche amount of players is, to put it mildly, very bad faith. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! " I know right? But the videos on the steam store page look so convincing! Until you get hit with 50 enemies and blood death explosions and rams and spears. I hate dying from a glowing dust speck when trying to interact with an enemy. Makes me think about how when I was a kid, I used to picture myself beating up 15 guys like Jet li. But I've never fought 15 adult men at once. E:And it probably wouldn't look like Jet Li Dernière édition par Mav2125#5750, le 25 sept. 2025 à 22:28:41

" POE 1 doesn't count chinese players, and the Chinese server isn't up yet -- POE will effectively remove all those chinese players and bots to a chinese realm and we'll see what our numbers are (China has their own p2w servers no joke, so they are counted by their own metric according to GGG) POE 2 went viral -- POE 1 didn't. That's also a huge determining factor. |

" This right here. POE 2 is putting up INSANE numbers and all the people who think poe 1 is better literally can still be playing it...but they're not |

Do something about the current vision, it's bad really bad. |

My take is that the campaign is the peak of the game with the more slow-paced gameplay when you can learn boss moves, enjoy the story for a bit and feel you're getting stronger each act.
The endgame on the other end is where I think the vision got lost and maybe it's because they're conflicted about how it should play, but I can't understand the decision of introducing the player a totally different playstyle from what they play during the campaign. The same bosses in the campaign are back in the endgame but now you don't need any mechanics, you just need to kill it asap before it kills you because some stupid 1hit-ko mode the boss have. You can play thousands of hours and yet you can't really master the gameplay, you're totally depend on ultra min-max items that got t1 stats that worth so much that in the end, what you really do? wasting tons of time just to be able to 1 shot a boss and move on? What is the point then? if you're telling me this what ARPGs are like, then this is the issue, this is the problem because POE2 came to be something else, and in the end remain to be all of the same like POE1 (which I really like regardless) and that's how I think the game really fail. |
