Crossbows - to the developer of this weapon .

why are all crossbow skills 1 bolt per clip ? just why?
i dont understand it, it feels bad and early game impacted the most by it
not to mention reload bugs are NOT fixed .
previously most ppl played galvanic shard not only because lightning is the strongest element in the game by far but also because Galvanic had more Bolts!
more bolts = less reloads less reload = less chances ur crossbow get stuck and cant shoot .

so lets see what we got now , all crossbow skills except rapid fire and shockburst rounds have 1 bolt .
most of those skill require using other skill to make them work
fore example permafrost bolts+fragmented bolts

do u think its working good in end game? because its not , it is very not fun to get jumped when u need to reload even if the reload speed is allot faster it still means there is a window where a mob can stun u mid reload animation and ur cooked , ur crossbow is stuck u cant shoot u need to manually press the reload button 50 times to reload or to Relog .

the whole concept ur trying to push whit crossbows to use multiply different types of bolts to do damage is annoying it only looks cool and feels cool in early game when monster are slow hp pull are low and monsters have low number of mods on them
as soon as u got to higher maps in end game u quickly find out that it is not Fun to reload ur crossbow 20 times per 5 monsters and trying to swap bolts mid fight to maybe do half of the damage other characters do whit 1 skill
but no u got to freeze the target then swap to fragmented rounds to do less the damage and also risk weapon to get stuck .

most crossbow skills do ZERO DAMAGE zero even the skill that did zero damage from some reason got nerfed ! lol what? u nerf a skill nobody uses because it does no damage ? makes allot of sense does it ?

galvanic shard&shockburst rounds& plasma power were the direct result of lightning begin the strongest element in the game which is still the strongest element by far

nobody used the other skill because ur playing a Zdps whit them
even the more fun skills like explosive shot were good only for clearing maps and barely had "decent" dmg on regular t4 bosses and more people were droppign the skill very fast when they realize how weak it is against t4 league bosses .

Crossbow- as a weapon in general need to feel good as a weapon from the start to the end , and not be like " well when u get to end game get 120% reload and get a base whit high reload speed+ 2 extra bolts +attack speed since it effects reload speed THEN! THEN its feels somewhat OK to use .
also gl getting a good crossbow whit extra bolts, gonna cost a freaking fortune.

i really dont understand the person designing crossbows tryed playing whit all the skills in end game content ?
did he try running maps whit them ?
it feels like they were designed "oh it looks cool its a cool idea" but nobody actually tested how it feels to play whit them in end game content .

the whole idea of reload Doesn't feel good
the lack of "quiver" makes crossbow allot harder to progress compared to bows where u have no reload and quiver provides useful stats like atk speed other base elements to ur attacks and not to mention other stuff like "change to bleed" or pierce etc.

*CROSSBOWS MUST CHANGE*

all crossbow skills must have at least 5 bolt per clip base.(excluding plasma&rapidfire) if reload is not removed.

Remove reload , its bugged it doesnt feel good to play whit .

We need Bolt pouch!(quiver)

all crossbows skills must be good at stand alone (except plasma)

grenades need more base aoe and faster cooldown recovery .

+ to bolt capacity on weapon affixes must more common stat .

Witch hunter needs more love and nobody really understands or see how "witchbane" ascendancy works but we all know one thing witch hunter sucks for bosses so nobody plays it ( 1% of players shows how good the ascendancy is) .

The fantasy "characters" of crossbow are witch hunter , gemlin and tactician , how come none of them have anything slightly related to crossbows and grenades in ascendances ?i mean they hold a crossbow on the picture but nothing more then that , the fantasy ends in the picture.


crossbows have huge mana issues when u going pass lvl 21 gems in a ridicules numbers maybe that will change whit the "new" mana cost changes but i doubt it, even when i had 800 mana +mana on kill in 0.2 i was struggling whit mana
on bosses if the build couldn't take down the boss whit the speed of light like shockburst rounds.


i spent over 1k hours playing crossbows because the skills look cool and they really do , but playing whit a crossbow is like playing a castrated version of a BOW where u dont need to waste stats on reload and mess whit the bugs that comes whit reload.

im not going to play whit crossbows anymore until things change.
i hope the person responsible for crossbow sees this and will try to understand my frustration whit this weapon.
me and other people posted allot of feedback on crossbows since the release of the game but i personally feel like it was completely ignored.


edit: NOBODY want to use Support gems to get an Extra bolt.

Bro this type of weapon eventually is a dead weapon. Sooner or later more and more people will head for ES classes. They are still powerfull especialy after the warirrior's nerfs.

We were expecting new skills in 0.3.0, like the Galvanic Shards mechanic that is super fast and increases survivability in combat, and instead we got Mortar Cann. Another slow totem, fixed to the ground that dies after two hits.

People are tired of reminding the developers how bad the damage is and how slow and clumsy the Crossbow skills are. Time will tell the end of the Merc class...

true , after i read the patch notes i was like "no way they ignored all the feedback on the forums for crossbows" ...but they did 100% ignored all the feed back .
Tired... frustrated and angry with the developers' indifference, not only with the new changes to Crossbow, but with the entire currency trading apps. It would be chaos. Besides, it would be impossible to play maps if Crossbow didn't have enhanced fire rate.


I wrote a post 8 months ago and said that in most games the damage done by the Crossbow was double that of the Bow and sometimes triple. This philosophy has strong evidence supporting this implementation, which comes from 3 decades ago.The crossbow is a weapon that lacks speed compared to the bow, so making shots with double or triple the damage of the bow justifies this rule.

In patch 0.3.0 the damage is not significant, it has been buffed and the skills still seem slow and weak compared to other classes skills. The Mortar Cannon of course helps, but it will not compensate for this lack.

As for the off-Hand Gear or the unresolved gem bugs, I wouldn't want to mention anything. Shame on the entire development team for leaving Crossbow in such bad conditions. And guess what? More bugs and issues will come with the new content of patch 0.3.0. A new mess is coming and one god knows when and how these issues will be fixed.

because 80% of the feedback could be rewritten as "make them exactly as bows" they will not do that. They want to make it feel different. It is not easy but they are trying. If you want fast constant fire then probably you want a bow.

Trying maybe but the result shows that Crossbow are bad 👎
And they feels horrendous to play
1 shot->reload 1-> shot reload
Yeah super fun not to mantion that 95%of the crossbow skills have zero dmg

From what i seen deepest tower is removed fromnthe game
I've been a crossbow main since release and the galvanic changes are really depressing. My feedback was they should increase clip across all the main skill types and they are going the opposite direction and want there to be downsides to increasing clip size via support gems. I hope the updated passive tree gives us some passives to increase ammo
