PoE 2 Is Bleeding Players, The 0.2.1 Update Was the Turning Point
" If they continue to push POE2 in POE1 direction, player retention will drop significantly for both games because they will share ~same POE1 audience and it won't play every league every 2 months. People will start skipping leagues. |

0.2.1 was very good to me because lowered the price of some gear and I had the chance to try the build I was reaching
but the build wasnt what I tought it would be... So... I'm waiting on 0.3 so we can have better builds to try And it's ok poe to be seasonable. I really dont want to be playing 24/7 as it is at the league start... What I think should be tought about is to help ppl progress over time after ppl lose interest in the patch |

This isn't even surprising, massive hype going into the beta drew a huge crowd.
The league (assuming it was an actual league and not the reset it was) didn't add anything really worth jumping back in for. PoE at it's core has a player base that piles in at the start then fades away after a few months (refrence PoE1 on steam charts) I would hope that they do actual add something as a league mechanic for PoE2's august update. I think GGG needs to seriously consider who they’re prioritizing:
Is it the SSF player who logs in for 30 minutes, then jumps on the forum to complain? Or the real gamers who put in steady hours and actually engage with the game? This was supposed to be the rise of PoE 2. Instead, it's starting to feel like its downfall. Used to think PoE 2 was “not just PoE 1 with better graphics.”
But that illusion shattered after the 0.2.1 patch. It ruined the feel, the loot, the flow, everything. Make it good again, GGG. |

" That's how recall my original PoE 2 experience hehe. I made multiple attempts at Titan to eventually end up with double splash mace, rage support and 10 rage on hit. It was decent, and I had fun putting it together, but it was not good enough to progress through atlas. And yeah, it's very slow still even after investing into attack speed passives. It doesn't help that leap slam is not a gap closer like it is in PoE 1. I love having high aspd and leaping like a frog in it. Here, in PoE 2, leap slam seems to defy gravity, because my character moves through air as if it was in slow motion. Another thing worth mentioning is that PoE 1 seems to give me much more options through the passive skill tree alone. I started SotA league as Crit Heavy Strike Chieftain. I built it without opening PoB till level 85 or so and it was fun. There were plenty of options on the tree that helped me address blocking mobs, slow clear (extra strike target + splash on the tree), stuns, defenses, attack speed, crit chance, etc. In PoE 2 large parts of the tree are dedicated to specific, pre-determined archetypes, i.e. armour break, stun, etc, with little to nothing useful inbetween. Not to mention many things are conditional which makes the tree even more useless. Dernière édition par voldert#1616, le 25 juil. 2025 à 10:34:28

" Me, too. HC SSF, still having a blast. Playing every day. Normal low player count for end of league, but we remain! HC SSF. What else? Ruthless when?

" Mirror is still extremely expensive, and the only real way to afford one now is by grinding and selling hundreds of low-value items, usually worth 1–2 divs each, just to even get close. That’s not engaging gameplay, it feels like busywork. The problem isn’t just item price drops. It’s that the entire reward structure feels off since 0.2.1. The grind feels emptier, trade feels slower, and a lot of dedicated players have noticed it — and left (only 'SSF BTW Player' stay). This isn’t about blaming anyone. It’s about starting a real conversation on what’s gone wrong and how to fix it. That’s the kind of feedback that should matter. Used to think PoE 2 was “not just PoE 1 with better graphics.” But that illusion shattered after the 0.2.1 patch. It ruined the feel, the loot, the flow, everything. Make it good again, GGG.
