one of the most important rules about customer service is being honest with your customer base.

thank you for telling us what happened - it sounds like an absolute nightmare, and i hope the dev team can go get some rest after this ordeal.

i am 100% certain not a single person at GGG woke up thinking "today i'm gonna change that support gem id and trash this entire patch" - it's an accident. we have all had accidents.

the other day i pressed r instead of e and ran into the pew pew, dying on 99% of level. shit happens.

still love you, still love the game, will be here tomorrow (and today).

Also wanted to voice out my appreciation for the courage and honesty to communicate what went wrong when mistakes were made. These things happen and I would like to think people understand and forgive when they feel they are appreciated, which the open and communicative approach help to achieve.
